It's a long video but I get quite involved in the differences with the three machines!

Thank you for taking the time to research and to record and upload this video, Mike. I just got a Model 24 and although I am a professional musician, an audio engineer, I am not. I really appreciate all of the little factoids you explained in these various machines. Cheers!! (Btw, I did watch the entire video

MTR means Multi Track Recording in the Tascam eco system.

PFL means Pre Fade Listen and is another name for solo or audition the selected channel.

@DonnDeVoreMusic 1 year ago

PFL sends the input signal to the headphones and control room outputs so you can adjust the input level using the LED meters.

The Internet needed this video. Good work Mike!

Thanks

MTR is for monitoring multitrack input. it sends the recorded track to the channel input instead of mic or line when mixing or overdubbing.

Watched all of it

How else makes something similar?

Good video. Can't see why the random differences between the units. Makes no sense at all. Feels like they slapped these together to meet a deadline, in disorganized fashion.

@yak-pringle 5 months ago

Do you have any hands-on experience with any of these systems?

Can the 24 control 16 channels from a DAW, How about the 16?

@philippebackprotips 2 years ago

Model 12 definitely the moat powerful of the bunch to integrate lots of things using computers and mobile thingies. Channel swapping can achieve a lot w that 9/10 thing. Nice units and a bit of head scratching.
