Explanation for jumping on the edge of blocks: If you look at your gd icon with hitboxes on depending on what you are using so see the hitboxes you may see a big blue hit box that covers your icon and a small red hitbox in the center. This small red hitbox is called the "hazard hitbox". Basically there are two types of hitboxes: hazard hitboxes and non hazard hitboxes. Harzard hitboxes are red and non hazard hitboxes are blue. Hazard hitboxes include things such as: spikes, saws, monsters, ground spikes (which are those prickly black slabs), as well as other things that kill you when you land on top of them. Non hazard hitboxes include things such as: Blocks, slopes, and other objects you can jump on top of without dying. There is also other hitboxes like interactive hitboxes which include like pads and orbs but that is not important for what I am trying to explain. As I stated in the beginning your player has a hazard hitbox and a non hazard hitbox, with the non hazard one being the larger on that covers the whole player and the hazard hitbox being a small hitbox in the center. Your non hazard hitbox can touch another non hazard hitbox and nothing will happen but once your hazard hitbox touches that non hazard hitbox you will die. The also applies the other way around, so if your non hazard hitbox hits a hazard hitbox you will die.
You know, spiders can teleport in walls and cubes can jump in the side of walls. This is because the hitbox you can die to in blocks is smaller than the hit box you can land on. Just look at the first jump of sakupen circles.
