I think that Jason was a guard at the prison, and that is where their relationship began. That is why the other guy said that he looked familiar. They were briefly coworkers.

To add to the Raul theory, in the latest pictures you can see a screenshot of Jason where he looks oddly similar to Raul with the hair a bit longer and slicked back and stache like Raul has.

It would be crazy if the plot was Jason being retired bank robber living in Vice City. Jason and Lucia robbed a gun store and Jason faked his death during the robbery and Lucia is incarcerated for nine years. Jason with the help of a corrupt FIB agent busts Lucia out then they fuck under a tree..

I have a theory that Lucia being brought out of prison is not the beginning of the story. I’ll bet rockstar implemented the chapter’s thing they had in rdr2.. this story could span over YEARS in the game’s timeline. Ya never know.

I think it could be like Jason is a undercover cop who towards the end bonds with Lucia and in a set up that he prepared he decides to help Lucia escape and Jason will actually become a criminal

My theory is that Lucia is not as a victim of circumstance but as a disgraced federal agent thrust into deep cover to salvage her ruined professional reputation. Tasked by her handler, Stefanie, to infiltrate the Leonida underworld through Jason—a career criminal whose past prison record makes him a prime target—Lucia intentionally orchestrates high-stakes robberies and takes the dominant, tactical lead to build an airtight racketeering case. Her deep-seated anxiety around passing local police cruisers exposes the extreme psychological pressure of keeping her cover intact while executing a double life where her tracker-equipped ankle monitor serves as a direct tether to the government. The ultimate tragedy unfolds when Lucia genuinely falls in love with her target, creating a devastating trap where her relentless drive for personal survival and career redemption directly causes Jason's death, leaving her legally free but completely broken in a haunting, cynical final act.

i think it would be cool if they made the games story some what based off your actions in the game, like say if you can join either a gang or the cops the story for them changes.  like the start of the game sets you up for either decision or maybe even a 3rd option, or even more options.

Maybe could be a fast an furious Brian O’Conner type thing where he was a cop but fell in love with Lucia an turned over

Long time ago in the '80s there was the greatest TV show ever capturing everything of what South Florida was back then the show was called Miami Vice.    About two cops, the Miami Vice department.       They go undercover deep cover to infiltrate drug dealers. Cocaine smuggling.  All over South Florida.    Having to live a double life.  Getting in deep with the underworld while maintaining law enforcement status.       Trailers one and two of GTA VI featured all of that. See where Rockstar games is getting there influence from.

One idea I haven’t seen yet is what if Jason and Lucia work for Raul in the beginning of the game. Then at the end of the first chapter, Lucia gets imprisoned and Jason works under the table for Brian. Then Chapter 2 is working for Brian, leading to Lucia’s release at the end of the chapter. Then chapter 3 is when we learn Raul is responsible for Lucia being imprisoned. Leading to him being a main baddie, and Brian having been an unfortunate cog we have to take out along the way. Like he’s keeping tabs on Jason for Raul. That’s why Jason does the odd jobs for housing, so he can remain under the radar

i think they took alot of inspiration from the LSPDFR into the story itself, that would make sense since the bodycam camera and all the cop stuff in the trailers

I dont think Jason will be a cop just because in freeroam you cant just go around killing and running ppl over, wouldn't work if hes a cop. I think Jason might be a police informant placed next to Lucia and got her behind the bars but as time passed on he slowly slowly fell in love. When Lucia was put behind bars and came back out, they (cops) most likely reached out to him blackmailing and making another deal just to catch the big bad wolf who maybe she knows or worked for. He starts to fall in love with the criminal lifestyle and tells the cops to f off. Lucia finds out Jason was the one who snitched on her so she questions his loyalty and love towards her having conflict etc etc

They’ve already confirmed he had a stint in the military, but I can picture him taking a shot at a career law enforcement afterwards. Question remains is what pulled him into being on the opposite side of the law. Guess we’ll find out when once the game is in our hands.

I also have a strong feeling that one of the main characters is an agent.

how i see this playing out is basically a version of 2F2F with Jason playing a similar role as Brian. either Jason was an active FIB agent undercover, or he left/was released for one reason or another and the two of them use this opportunity to clear their records by helping law enforcement arrest the bad guy using their extracurricular skillsets. we know rockstar uses movies as inspiration so its honestly a perfect movie to use for a Florida based "cops and robbers" themed story play out. i dont think Lucia is in law enforcement so it might even be a surprise for her to find out, possibly creating tension between them during the game.

The third character might be your own character in the online game, picking up the story after Lucia and Jason... There might be a "Miami Vice"(series or movie) or "Departed" story line with one of the characters. But i somekind think of Raul than Jason.

As for Jason being a police officer infiltrated in the world of crime to arrest someone who isn't Lucia because in the prologue of the game we'll release Lucia so we can start playing

Lucia is a relative of Catalina from gta 3

I think Brian fakes his death which forces Jason to get Lucia out of jail but Brian knows Jason's secret which is that he's undercover and he tries to kill him throughout the game and get him to expose himself to Lucia so she will turn on him then Lucia will work with Brian to take out Jason until ultimately they make up at the end and take Brian out together except one of them has to die the question is which one dies to save the other !!

What about the Sonny Crocket inspired pre order outfit. It could be a direct hint that he is an undercover cop just like Sonny
