Probably the greatest wicketkeeper ever since he successfully kept against one of all time best speedster and one of the best spinners of all time.
Don't forget his humbleness with that huge talent and success!
Hats off to Gilly

Mr Gilchrist is a natural observer and coach. I can see a whole new richly deserved career for him.

Gilchrist is probably one of australia's greatest batsman as well. He was also Australia's greatest wicket keeper since Wally Grout and he has been a wonderful team member. If he had been selected as the Captain, I have no doubt he would have succeeded as well. Thankfully, I got to watch all of his career. Gilchrist never missed a moment to excel at cricket in any form of the game, on and off the field. He is my cricket legend.

Cheers,

Gilly was my first sporting idol. His batting flare and keeping brilliance was an inspiration.

Gilly was far and away my favourite cricketer growing up. I took up keeping in juniors and made sure I had all the same gear as him. Same gloves, same bat, same pads. He was an exceptional player.
