You dropped your Star Wars Hot Takes for me to respond to...and the time has finally come. We got SO many comments with opinions on everything from Cassian Andor, to The Clone Wars, to Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka Tano, The Acolyte, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and even Ewoks and LEGO Star Wars - and we're diving in deep to discuss them all! I'm responding, debating, and reacting to as many of these hot takes as I could fit in one video! If your comment didn't make it in this time, be sure to drop it down in the comments, I'd absolutely love to do a part two to this video (or maybe even turn it into an ongoing series!) Until then, may The Force be with with you!

To submit YOUR Star Wars Hot Take for a future video, be sure to leave a ⭐️💫✨ star emoji in your comment!

Vaders presence in Rogue one wasn’t needed but I don’t hate that they did that.

⭐️ Hot Take: I prefer Kyber bleeding over synthetic crystals for the sith. IMO Kyber crystal bleeding perfectly lines up with the sith philosophy and shows how the darkside doesn’t create anything, but instead only corrupts things in service of the sith's will.
It also gives lightsabers a more mystical side to their construction and makes the kyber crystal(aka the heart of the blade) more important than ever before.

My Hot take: I hate that we did not receive an animated/live action story around Luke. We are constantly told Luke is the best, the most powerful, and they keep stuff about him behind books/comics. We should’ve had a visual depiction of Luke. That’s why everyone goes back and watches the hallway scene. That and the duel vs Kylo is all we have.

i feel like the reason maul and andor get praise, is it allows the writing to be mature enough for its not stupid or primarily aimed at kids so young

⭐️hot take: the acolyte should have been set farther back in the timeline. The end of the high republic and the acolyte was set 100 years before the phantom menace, but by that time so much had changed in a relatively short period time. An extra 50-100 years would have made the slaughter of several dozen Jedi being forgotten make more sense.

⭐Hot Take: People say the acting is bad and 'wooden' in the prequels, but honestly, are you that weirded out that the royalty, officials and the wizard-monks called jedi that we follow in the story are a bit stifled by formality and come off bit awkward in the way they express themselves? To me it sounds like it people were expecting everybody to sound just like Luke and Han in the OT, and that's just silly imho. I thought of it as like a different time period (which it is) were people were more formal and 'civilized'. It could have been done better for sure, but I think the intended tone was achieved.

Hot take: Kylo REN’s lightsaber is the best thing to come out of the sequels

Listen I only clicked on this video bc of the Vader with the eyebrow thumbnail. Now do not disappoint me

It’s SOOOO refreshing who doesn’t just completely glaze EU ignoring its flaws and not completely bashing Disney to a toxic degree without even caring to watch it

💫 Hot take for the droid desert arc in the cw; I love this arc. Not just for gregor, but I also love the droids, and the weird uncanny liminal-space vibe of wandering this endless void of desert. Defo overhated for me.

⭐️hot take: Obi-Wan Kenobi series, for me, should just be a limited series. It just works well as that than making a season 2. Also, as someone who was nervous about this project before about how it would lessen the impact of Revenge of the Sith, and wanting to people to be excited because both Ewan and Hayden were coming back, I quite enjoyed it. Not perfect, but a good show overall. 7/10 for me

Hot take: SW animation is better than live action; we get better action and lightsaber fights especially, cooler and more vibrant setpieces, better acting, and because of lower costs we are able to get more time for character development and more variety of planets and locations. The only exception is Andor which is probably the best sw project ever, but its such a different type of show and my take here is mostly for traditional star wars content.

⭐ Hot take: I recently rewatched the OG trilogy and man Yoda was a terrible teacher. We all remember him as an a super wise and powerful character in a small body, but it seemed like most of his lines were just telling Luke no and refusing to elaborate. Dooku kinda had a point about him

⭐️ Hot take: The Mandalorian Season 3 is a better season than most give it credit for. Apart from the obvious issues like Grogu reunited with Din in TBOBF instead of S3 and the underutilized Moff Gideon, the Mandalorian characters and the story arc of them trying to unite the two Mandalorian factions and retake Mandalore are what carry the season the most for me. Even if Bo-Katan takes up most of the spotlight over Din. Basically, any moment that doesn’t have Jack Black and Lizzo in it is watchable enough for me.

Prequel choreography sucks its just aiming at swords till plotarmor ki is in and someone js looses for no reason(OT had actual fights)

🌟HOT TAKE: "The Village Bride"(s1 e4) and "The Lost Ones" (s3 e6) from SW Visions deserves to be its own series set in canon timeline. These two episodes following the character of F finding her place in the galaxy by getting to know all sorts of ordinary folks, were exactly what Star Wars is and should be, and at the same time absolutely beautiful!! There are no chronological inconsistencies in making these stories canon, and I really think there can be a lot more that we have yet to see from her story!! Also we desperately need more characters who uses the lightsabers like an actual katana, and F's golden katanasaber is just gorgeous❤❤

⭐️💫Hot Take: Rey needs to lose a hand if she wants to be a skywalker and she should’ve lost one in rise of Skywalker. I feel like it’s a right of passage at this point for the main character of a trilogy to get that shit chopped off

@jacoballen7016 3 months ago

⭐we're always obligated to introduce people to Star Wars starting at episode 4 because it introduces basic concepts, so they should make a movie set before Episode 1 that goes over those concepts again so you can show someone Star Wars in chronological order
