Kanan Jarrus Is What A Jedi SHOULD Be

There are a ton of fantastic heroes in Star Wars from Luke Skywalker to Ahsoka or Yoda...but Kanan Jarrus is everything a Jedi should be. After watching his story told through Star Wars Rebels, I just had to talk about how in every aspect of this former Padawan's life, he embodies everything the Jedi Order stood for better than most Jedi! From his relationship with Hera Syndulla, how he trains Ezra Bridger (or even Sabine Wren) to the moment Darth Maul takes his sight, to his final sacrifice on Lothal - Caleb Dume is the best Jedi there is.

"You were right. I was a coward. But now I know there's something stronger than fear—far stronger. The Force. Let me show you how strong it is."

I can proudly say that myself and my father were there when Rebels first aired on Disney XD, and we watched every episode until the end. And honestly, i'm glad that more people are finding rebels and watching it.

Bro was so goated that the force itself knighted him.

I truly adore how the last thing he says to Hera before he loses his sight is "I'll see you again" and the force makes sure he does

What sets Kanan apart is his heart. He often lacked the experience, training, and wisdom needed to face the trials before him, but he never lacked the courage to do what was right or the determination to protect those he cared about.

Those qualities enabled him to surpass his limitations, grow into an exceptional leader and mentor, and ultimately become one of the greatest Jedi in Star Wars.

Bendu: "If you can see yourself, you will never be truly blind, Kanan Jarris, Jedi Knight."🗿🔥

One of my favorite moments from Rebels is, when Kanan tells Ezra how he wonders if he still has anything left to teach him. Ezra says that Kanan taught him so much, to which Kanan replies that his jedi training was limited. Ezra says that he is not talking about being jedi, but about being a good person.
Sorry if my grammar is bad. English isn't my first language.

Rebels doesn't get enough love. They had such a fantastic cast of characters

It's important to remember that Kanan Jarrus (formerly Caleb Dume) is practically Mace Windu's lecacy.

Mace Windu -> Depa Billaba -> Kanan Jarrus -> Ezra Bridger

Mace Windu was very proud that his padawan, Depa Billaba, reached the Jedi Council. She instilled a sense of protection (though this has been heavily criticized in Mace) until the very end of her life, and it was this protection that saved Caleb's life. In fact, most of the survivors of Order 66 were padawans whose masters gave their lives for them.

I've always felt that Kanan was the successor to Qua Gon Jinn's character as a Jedi.

Every time I see Kanan's last moment, it makes me emotional. For a show that 100% started as a kid-show, it became so incredible and emotionally resonant. Kanan was what we should all strive to be; not perfect, but doing his literal best.

Kanan became very wise after being blinded, “Battles leaves scars, some you can’t see”

Love how Healthy Attachment is the best example of a person in this series 😭

I have to be honest, Ahsoka Tano has my heart and that won't change. But Kenan is the closest second, his story of cutting himself off to then having a Padawan to look after, having a wife, having a family... He drew strength from his attachments and was a better Jedi for it, his ultimate sacrifice makes me cry to this day!

DUUUUUUUUUME

I have said for years that Kanan Jarrus is my favorite Jedi because despite lacking any extraordinary strength, skill, or title, he is the pinnacle of what a Jedi should be.

Legit had me crying with that montage near the end of this video. Growing up, as Rebels was coming out, whenever I didn’t know what to do, I simply asked myself “what would Kanan do”, and found resolve. Years later, I find myself doing the same thing, as I take his lessons with me every day. I really can’t overstate how much I admire this analysis…awesome job!

While Qui-Gon Jin and Luke Skywalker are the best embodiments of what the Jedi should be, I absolutely agree with your take on Kanan Jarrus!

He is uncoupled with the Force from dogmatic, failing institutions and learns to balance deep emotional attachments with selflessness. Especially his healthy, mutual relationship with Hera.

Where as the Prequel Era Jedi order had failed by suppressing their emotions and bowing to the corrupted politics, Kanan proves that love and connection can strengthen a Jedi's dedication to the light side of the force.

I watched rebels for the first time this year, and Kanan has become one of my favourite Star Wars characters. His story with the ghost crew and Hera was so good! And his death was really unexpected, considering this was a Disney tv show. DUUUUUUUUUUUNE for life

Edit: Kanan’s death made me cry and hearing it described again made me cry again
P.s. thanks for the likes
