Dragon Ball almost looked completely different.
Before transformations like Super Saiyan, Super SaiyanBlue, and Beast Gohan became iconic, they went through plenty of experimentation. From Super Saiyan Blue originally being WHITE, to Goku nearly regrowing his tail with Super Saiyan 3, a golden Super Saiyan 4, and more, we're looking through some of Dragon Ball's most fascinating discarded Saiyan forms and designs.
These are the Saiyan transformations we almost got!

it's crazy to me how many times golden super Saiyan four was about to come to the series, from gt, heroes and even god from super

2:14 Vegeta before his cancer took over.

Its crazy to think SSJ5 might be legit one day if SSJ4 and MUI is mixed together.

Who remembers in the dbs broly movie where we thought goku and vegeta could go Super Saiyan Green

Fun fact, in the budokai 3 game, the player 2 alt colour for ssj4 Goku is actually the colour pallette for the original design.

Ngl, white hair, red eyed super saiyan would have gone just as hard as gold hair, teal eyes

2:25 sorry, I cannot see that side profile of Vegeta without that bald form of his, so weird to see it with the hair this time.

I actually bought a few Dragon Ball GT posters from the 90s. Each of them have a different image behind them and one of them still has the grey Super Saiyan 4.

Beast feels so similar to El Blanco, I can't not mention it.

13:24 I like that route, Trunks never really felt like a Primal form using kinda guy anyway... Funnily enough I see Trunks as the type to follow Goku (dbs)'s path to power.

14:46 That doesn't just look like something from Doom that straight up is from Doom. That's a Baron of Hell. It's uncanny.

Pseudo Ssj is kinda like Movie Broly's form when he tried to jump Goku in his sleep.

Y'k the color scheme is tuff as hell when someone tries to do it 2 times and only gets with third

(White ssj with red eyes, ssjb that was wanted to be white, and ofc beast being pretty much what if white ssj3)

19:00 yeah so 青い肌 means pale skin, it can mean blue if taken literally, but 青い covers a lot of colors (blue, grey, and green) so context matters. Probably it was just a literal translation that gave 'blue' initially, however, 'pale skin' is definitely more accurate with the context.

2:19 SO THAT'S WHY GAMES HAD IT THAT WAY FOR A BIT! Because they likely looked at this sheet and while they were working on the form for games they changed it to the darker blue! I finally have a answer for why they did this. Thanks man i was so confused at why they didn't change the color until later...

I dont know why, but I like the white hair, red eyed super saiyan look more than the blonde hair, teal eyed look. It makes the form look more striking to me
