@1:09 "rifflifliffiflllfffif" (Courtesy: Charlie Craven). Charlie, thank you for creating the perfect out-of-the-mouth audio-visual lip synched water movement river riffle lesson ever. That is why you are #1 the BEST!! Picture frame was worth a thousand words. LOL
Fishing the Madison yesterday came up on a really shallow riffle that dropped into about 1.5 foot bucket couldn’t see any fish but put on a Royal mini chubby with a little perdigon dropper . Caught 5 fish out of that 20 yard stretch. 4 on the dropper one on the dry . Couldn’t have been a better set up .
Fishing a riffle today, 6 to 10 deep very choppy water. A blue herion got a 15 inch trout 30 feet from me was really cool to watch. Ruffles are very oxygenated water too.
Favorite way to fish riffles? Start at the tail out where the bottom rises up out of the pool. Streamer fished perpendicular or swung. Then fish the riffle, coupla casts, step down a coupla feet, do it again.
Good stuff! Only comment is that tactics change on small spring creeks like more wading stealth and walking the banks is most times not an option for looking for big trout!
How do you keep the flyagra from leaking out of the bottle lid? This is my third bottle and all three have leaked even with the lid tightly screwed on.
