Being new to tying I find thread to be my biggest problem trying to figure out.  This definitely helped me.  Thanks

I tie with a LOT of nanosilk. Basically anything that doesn’t require waxy, non-slippery thread or bulk. You’re gonna end up wasting a ton of thread if you need to build bulk with nanosilk…but if you don’t (and I don’t like a lot of extra bulk in many of my patterns), it’s incredible stuff. You can really spin up deer hair with a tiny thread and not have to worry about breaking off. You can really secure up a bugger type streamer or beadhead nymph without having to worry about your thread starting to “overflow” the bead. It’s just soooooo useful.

Im sure to some people a video like this is just too much information on a very specific subject. But i just loved it.  So many years of research and knowledge packed into this video.  It might take your average fly tier a lifetime to learn half of what was shared here.   Im getting my nephew into fly tying and it’s videos like this that are game changers as far as me trying to outfit his tying kit.  Thanks.

Great overview on thread Charlie. Good video for future reference and sharing with other new tiers. Now retired, I’m now in the “weeds” on tying and have time to focus on details of getting better. Thread is definitely one of those details.

Charlie you have amazing insight and the way you explain things even I can understand them! Thanks☕️☕️👍

Fantastic. Thanks for taking the time--I know that I will refer back to this often.

Interesting video about threads! I have been making flys for almost 60 years! Mostly use 6/0 and 8/0 threads or comparable! Polyester or nylon, corded or flat, as long as it is strong enough for the purpose, it doesn’t matter much to me! I have spools of both and before ordering online was a thing, had to use whatever I could find! Currently I am using Veevus 8/0 and I definitely like it! Thanks and tight lines!!

Very helpful. Newbie to fly tying.

WOW, great job.  My head is still spinning

Thank you kindly. Excellent explanation.

Terrific information. Thx Charlie

Thanks Charlie, nicely explained 😉☕️☕️

I'm left handed, but tie right. Uni is always flat for me and I have to spin the bobber if I want it round. This was an interesting video.

That was good 👍 I learned from that

Excellent explanation

Awesome video.

Thanks for this!
