I'm the developer. I've been watching your content for years now so it's both amazing and also... I dunno kinda weird under these circumstances. Also I want you to play with organs but I'm a solo dev and was about to go completely broke lol. Maybe in the second one. Thank you for keeping me entertained while I work, playing the game, and I guess also watching the movie. It certainly exists! It was a great experience though and a rare honor for a single developer. Fun fact, I'm the one getting a sponge bath.

Dated a mortician. The cleaning and "pointless" steps are just basic respect for the dead. Everyone receives the same care, cremation or not.

I'm a mortician/funeral director apprentice and I'm thankful to say it's not nearly this exciting 😂 I have had nightmares about the people I'm working on coming back to life mid embalming, though.

Actually, in the game if you do attempt to leave by getting the car, the demon posesses Rebecca and makes her return. Elvis maybe didn't try that

The white demon creature in this game that will just be staring at you from the most precarious places is still one of the most effective scares in a game to me to this day.

I honestly think they did the Mimic wrong. They went for a more horror look than an uncanny valley appearance. That said, that would've needed some CGI to make it look naturally unnatural

Scariest thing in mortuary assistant is that its a job simulator

That moment when the game makes you moisturize the demon before burning it to a crisp... gotta make sure the entity has clear skin before returning to hell.

You can leave in the game. The game has multiple endings and one of them is unlock the building and just go

There's already a great mortuary-themed horror movie called "The Autopsy of Jane Doe", which came out years before "Mortuary Assistant".

I liked the movie because I liked the game, but The Autopsy of Jane Doe did a much better job reflecting the build up to a haunting while doing a "normal" job.

I love that you played the game for this lmao that's awesome.

22:58 for an addict this both can and can't make perfect sense, it depends on the person but heres why. Some Meetings typically are people telling "drug war stories" and for some it can just make them want to use, I'm one, I don't go to meetings, they don't help and actually just actively make me want to use. And for not thinking of using when fleeing back to the mortuary, well it's like how some addicts will seek danger, like rock climbing or air diving for the thrill adrenaline. When your pumped up and things are going on, ur in flight or fight, dope would for ONCE not be the first thing on your mind but rather second after surviving. Just a thought, makes perfect sense to me.

I always thought it was weird that horror movies would have the monster do things like throwing someone over a table.  It makes me feel like the unstoppable monster has the powers of Kung Fu, instead of giving an otherworldly creature some creative abilities that we could barely expect, but nah, it's like prepare to be thrown over a table.

The age of indie videogame movie adaptations is crazy. These directors would never stop once they discover the ps1 slop that gets made every other month

I can’t get over how the movie version of the mimic looks like an AI recreation of the actual thing

Now there is the "Backrooms"  movie coming out to look forward to

My favourite part of the movie is when Rebecca goes “Dad?”😰 every single time the very clearly demon version of her father appears. Like she forgets it’s the demon everytime😭😭

i really liked the movie jane doe too, which reminds me a lot of mortuary assistant.
