The hippy movement was historically largely privileged/wealthy teens and young adults so it’s fair that stereotype has stayed alive

My parents were metalheads, it was no surprise i turned into a scene kid so probably their parents were hippies and they rich

I think it’s funny that her definition of being Mexican is eating “homemade tacos” while growing up lol

I have a psychotic disorder and had one episode that lasted several months that was highly spiritually focused. It do be like that. I even almost made a tiktok account to document "my knowledge" as it evolved, so it really is hard telling if she's malicious or just experiencing a mental health spiral. Unfortunate either way.

Hey kids, we don't call these ones hippies, we call them Trustafarians. We've been calling them that since the 80's.

Shanin legit scares me. That woman is up to nothing good 😂

hi! im native america, cheeroke to be exact. we do not wear locs, we just braid feathers and beads into our hair.

0:10 😂😂😂😂 why did i laugh till i fell of my chair

I’m punk and I finally understand why the punks from the original movement didn’t like hippies as much because there were mainly rich people and only wanted peace, and while punks liked peace they didn’t ignore the fucked up systems and how rich people were (and are). Correct me if I’m wrong, and sorry if it’s not relevant, but I learned that from this.

Rich people cosplaying poverty makes me angrier than anything. Being homeless isn't a joke, living in a van isn't fun when you're forced to and don't know where your next meal is coming from. Having to sell your body just to survive isn't fun. These people make me actually sick.

When will people understand that the “hippie” label isn’t monolithic at all? I personally have two bonafide hippies in my life that are the polar opposite of one another:

1) My great-aunt. After she got her doctorate in psychology in 1968, she decided to go completely off the grid to live in a hut. No electricity, and the only running water was used to irrigate the large cannabis farm she cultivated. She was able to live that “free spirit” lifestyle because she made bank from selling substances. After 8 years she left and has since lived a pretty typical American nuclear family life. She’s very chill and still considers herself a hippie (socially and politically) despite looking like a 2nd grade teacher.

2) My ex-boyfriend’s dad. He did come from generational wealth, but squandered his share after becoming a (deeply alcoholic) musician. He very much looks like a hippie and claims to be one, but he also subscribes to violent Q-Anon conspiracy theory stuff and owns a lot of firearms. And even tho he’s a nutjob, he fits the “correct” starving-artist hippie aesthetic that these folks seem to find more authentic.

hi, im polish and her house is not in any means typical polish 2000s/1990s/1980s house, its actually like a villa hahaha. shes probably more rich than most of polish citizens LOL

“Well how are you annoyed by that but not annoyed by ÆAAAAAAAAAAÂÆÁÅUGGHH”

It’s so sad that the early hippie movement’s history of activism is just completely forgotten. Hippies were big in the civil rights and women’s rights movements in the 60s, and even when I was a kid had some level of association with animal and environmental rights. Now it’s really been reduced to a music/fashion thing.

Shanin is basically what spiritual narcissism, spiritual bypassing, and toxic positivity looks like

I feel bad for Shannons kid, poor kids been surrounded by spiritual psychosis and psychedelic drugs her whole life and been exploited and posted online since she was conceived

you went off on this one, “the cats are polish” is my new vocal stim

I’m bipolar and I’ve experienced psychotic mania. I was IMMEDIATELY concerned she may be manic after hearing that girl thought she could heal her kidneys with her mind. Yes you shouldn’t be diagnosing strangers on the internet but she’s behaving in a way that reminds me of my own symptoms during an episode, sooo 😬

Honestly I’d rather have rich people be promoting peace and love and no war than what they are promoting now 💀 rich hippies isint the worst thing
