how could anyone be mad at that sweet kid singing a song...as if that negatively affected hillary's career in any way. jealousy ruins everything. how ridiculous and how sad.

I get Hilary’s mom trying to protect her daughter but to be jealous about one episode where she got to sing is crazy.

I always wondered why the hell miranda wasn’t in Rome 😭

I’m going to look at this as Lalaine escaped the Disney cult

Now we know why they tried so hard to convince us that Hilary could sing

Miranda’s absence from the film was very glaring, almost felt like an incomplete conclusion of the show’s narrative. Don’t even fucking make the movie if a central character is missing from the cast, it was jarring to watch 😂

I remember the actor the played Gordo even said because he was a bit older he also hung out with the crew more than the cast, so it really was a bunch of unnecessary teen drama amplified by the adults around them.

So this feud started because she sang a song in an episode? That’s ridiculous! Hilary’s mom sounds like a mom-ager who flanked the flames. What a terrible example to set for her daughter.

I feel like Lalaine and Hillary's friendship wouldn't have soured if it weren't for Hillary's mom sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. Children even in their teens are still very impressionable and will side with their parents; if Susan argued incessantly that her precious little baby was being denied something and the person at fault was Lalaine, Hillary would come to believe the same. But really, Susan Duff was a brat of a mother who ruined two girls' friendship.

This is why the movie (and last few episodes of the show) doesn't do it for me. I loved Miranda and hated that she was written out

This is laughable that Hilary was jealous of Lalaine singing, while in a number of her other projects, Hilary was lip syncing while it was actually her sister Haylie singing 🤣

Hillary’s mom may very well be why people weren’t as connected to her as they were Lalaine

LaLaine was the first celebrity I ever met. She was doing a meet and greet at a car show in Ohio (of all places!) and my dad took me. She gave me a hug and was so friendly and nice. Six year old me was so excited to meet Miranda Sanchez, and my dad was excited to meet a Filipina actress. LaLaine was most definitely a fashion icon of the 2000s. I wore colorful hair extension clips and vibrant outfits to school because of her. When she guest starred on Christy’s Kitchen Throwback, I clicked on that video so fast. Meeting LaLaine was my most memorable moment of 2001. Not sure what she’s up to these days, but I hope she’s doing well. Also that bowling alley photo is priceless. 🫶🏼

Another example of a mom living vicariously through their child, while yet still acting like a child. Sad, Hilary and Lalaine could have been a great support system for each other for the rest of their lives…

Hilary’s mom not saying “Hilary it’s fine, you’re overreacting, Lalaine is your friend” is getting me so heated. like you’re the adult in the situation ….

Now is the perfect time for her to step back out and make a come back. I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say we’d love to see and hear from her and support her in any project she take part in. 😊

She was gone for just six episodes??? It felt like way more than that.

Made me think of Jennette McCurdy's mom. Jennete talked about how her mother would encourage her to see Miranda Cosgrow (and all other girls) as competition. Jennete said at first she did, but Miranda was such a sweet person, she inevitably became friends with her. Miranda ended up being a great friend, and their friendship is one of the things she looks back on fondly despite hating her time on Icarly.

Miranda was repping the alternative/punk kids of color on a Disney show in the 2000s. Miss her. I loved Lalaine

Please do a deep dive of Haylie and Hilary as well as their current estrangement
