I'll never forget the first time I saw this scene... But perhaps even more.. the scene later where Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead... In front of Thomas. I sat with goose pimples in the hairs on my arms stood up with emotion.. because I've also experienced '..the God.. ..who DOESN'T'. The God who didn't heal or raise Ramah.. didn't restore my marriage when my 'Christian' wife divorced me. When you've experienced God NOT doing something.. or even worse you believed there were clear signs that he would.. But then didn't.. When you're so angry at God that you're punching the air and throwing your Bibles in the trash and leaving church... When you actually decide to deliberately sin just to spite God and exact some revenge against him for him not helping when he could have... When you've been to that level.. and you still have some belief and decide to slowly, painfully build your faith from that place.. It will look a lot different from the faith you had previously. It'll be a lot more a mature faith, a stronger faith.
To know this true feeling of Jesus's arms holding me and saying it will be ok. I believe with such little faith... I want to be ready for your return, Amen.
I can so relate with Thomas..when my beautiful daughter passed away from cancer in 2010 I was angry, and as to why this beautiful child had to die..😢 I left church for a whole year, angry, hurt, and wondered why she was not healed? My own church family would comment about how their family member was healed..maybe my faith was not strong or I lost my faith..but thanks be to God I was able to come back..my faith was made stronger and even more so with this amazing series..Thank you Dallas and the Chosen team.
After watching this episode, it truly reminds me of myself. All though I love God, sometimes I don't put him first in my life. Instead I try to convince myself thst if I just had a significant other, that then I'd be satisfied and that my relationship with God would be even more strengthened.
Hate to say it but.. I'm wrong and God has intervened because he loves me and wants me to have him as top priority and the only True joy of this lifetime
“The tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.”
There were many times in my Life I could relate to Death. And I knew I see love ones again. But pain of any kind I go through now I say " Thy Will be Done" because my hope comes from the " Stone that roll.away" Jesus Resurrection. ❤❤❤
We all know that in the Bible, it isn’t mentioned if the real disciple Thomas has a wife or not. He is the disciple that was always griefed and mournful and doubtful. He even doubted the Resurrection of Christ Jesus our Lord. I believe in this show, this Thomas loses Ramah due to a trial of Thomas Faith, and it is also showing the us (the viewer) if we would still follow Christ and go to God even when God allowed loss to happen in our life. Next, when Thomas was holding Ramah in her final moments, it taught me to know that having a woman that you are in love with, and is in love with you is not easy, you gotta be there with her through everything and that means even through death.
While i want to acknowledge Thomas's pain at losing his love, i also would like to acknowledge Jesus's pain, in that he could easily of raised Ramah, but didnt. His plan goes much further than our minds can comprehend. God is playing 5 level chess, with us primitives who can barely open a box of checkers.
