I once witnessed my professor in psychology when he was in his late 50s headbutt one of my fellow students many years ago when I was still a university student, so you can't assume that well educated people behave any better than everybody else.
Not sure if this was part of the problem but the Philippine culture is very passive aggressive and this can cause clashes with other cultures who don’t understand how to deal with it.
Blessed are the peace makers- - I lived in Angeles City during the 70s, where many-may of the local nationals still remembered the Bataan death march which passed right near that area. They say first-hand the sacrifices put forth by the Americans. We were treated with respect after that- -and for the most part never abused it. Also, during that time, In many classrooms, they would stand and cite the Pledge of allegiance to America. Now we seem to be relegated to coolies.
It's so easy to be nice or just walk away. Today, the attitude of standing your ground and escalation seems right. There is no right or wrong in a foreign country, but what they can do to you. I just walk away and never lose any sleep. :face-red-heart-shape:
im so glad i just keep to myself when im out. not worth it to getting into arguments, Fights, etc.. as a Foreigner you will always be in the wrong. whether you are right or not.
So yeah... Dangerous to walk around if you have a short temper or curse a lot naturally. I was born in the Bronx and normally talk like a sailor 😂 Easy to get thrown out of the Phillipines so one of the first things I did was to send my wife to driving school. I no longer drive my truck as I don't have the required patients to drive here. They would throw me out based upon the way I drive. No stop signs, speed limits, traffic lights, radar traps, or speed cameras. I drive it like I stole it🤣. At 72 I can't change who I am but I do watch myself anytime I leave my compound.- not often.
Moral of the story for foreigners in the Philippines is " Never trouble trouble even if trouble troubles you " ! , I enjoy listening to your sober vlogs ! You remind me of Peter O'toole by the way! Handsome dude ! ingat po !
