When i was 8 years old my dad told me The Sultan's of Swing is the greatest rock song of all time. 32 Years later and nothing has proven him wrong!

My new hobby is watching people find out about Mark Knopfler for the first time!!! I can almost enjoy it the same I did, as the first time I ever heard him play!!!! Truly a one of a kind talent, and this live version is the best!!!!

The Drummer was so stoked his father was seeing him for the first time. He had the rest of the band just as hyped as he is. The drummer kills it!!

No click track. No autotune. No sampling. No laser light displays or pyrotechnics. Just musical mastery.

Modern music can't hold a candle to the good old days

Been listening to Sultans of swing for 45 years and still get goosebumps.

For my money, Mark Knopfler is an absolute virtuoso guitarist whose playing is not only world leading, but also so melodic.  The melodic nature of his solos makes him standout against his contemporaries.  At the time that this video was made, the members of Dire Straits were on the top of their game and on top of the world.  This was perfection..

Anybody else remember the day when musicians became one with their instrument? These guys could jam til they drop .

Hands down one of the best live performances ever recorded...Knopfler is a true artist, possibly the best ever.

The drums are friggin addictive on this version

the real magic in this performance is that each and every one of the musicians are having a lot of fun and anyone can feel that

Mark Knopfler on lead guitar is phenomenal in this performance, but the drummer absolutely ATE IT and was truly remarkable. Just amazing! I never tire of this Dire Straits classic and this live performance is the ultimate IMO.

One of the greatest live performances of all time, by anyone.

Just when you think it can't go to a higher plane it does. Their best song of many superb songs. Imagine seeing that live.

Such a great live version! Dire Straits are a great British rock band from the 70's-90's.  Mark Knopfler is one of the best guitarists around. They have had so many hits including "Walk Of Life", "Brothers In Arms", "Money For Nothing", "Telegraph Road", "Romeo & Juliet", "Private Investigations", "Twisting By The Pool",  "So Far Away" etc. They don't have a bad song.

One word to describe this Song and the Performance = MINDBLOWING!

The studio version won't disappoint, but will underscore how well they nailed the song on stage with additional embellishments.

Completely clean tone on the guitar, no effects whatsoever too. Just Mark and his considerable skills

The drummer Terry Williams dad was in the audience and was the first time he had seen him perform. Mark allowed him go all out

One of The Best string Pluckers EVER
