Dolores Umbridge is still the most infuriating character on this list for me. Villains like Voldemort are openly evil, but Umbridge feels far more realistic, which somehow makes her even worse.

The joy that settled in my heart when I found out Umbridge ended up in Azkaban cannot be described.

Well written characters who makes a reader angry and want to throw something is a badge of honor to the writer and the good job they did in developing that character

A lot of people have become Dolores Umbridge in the last decade or so and they haven't noticed.

What made Harry Morgan even worse is his character assassination in season 2. In S1 flashbacks he seemed to genuinely love Debra despite all the neglect, since he made sure that Dexter becomes a protective brother for her. But in S2 flashbacks he couldn't care less about her.

Cersei thinks she’s a mastermind but every decision is more idiotic than the last. Tywin was right

I see why you were worried about the thumbnail 😂

In the Dexter books, Harry is VERY different. I enjoy both in their own respects, but show Harry is so interesting because he clearly groomed a damaged child to be his own pet vigilante. What a jerk.

Chuck is possibly THE BEST WRITTEN CHARACTER of the entire breaking bad universe... Michael Mckean was absolutely fantastic portraying this pseudo psychotic yet such a tragic miserable individual.

Joffrey and Umbridge were SO well acted - I'm sure the actors themselves were hated/disliked in real life!

I loved the line “Jimmy has the mind of a criminal, and the jury is still out on his heart”

So with you on the "Fuck Chuck McGill" train. My way to describe why I think he's so awful is that in the battle for Jimmy's soul, Chuck's resentments, pettiness and jealousy won. Jimmy is like an addict, addicted to that moment when he's got someone fooled or tricked, and Chuck did nothing but force Jimmy into situations where his ability to con was his only option forwards, like forcing an alcoholic to pick between beer or booze if he wants something to drink just to sabotage them.

Best way to know you put effort at making the most hated character in a movie is when the performer admits she hated her own character. Yeah, I'm talking about Imelda (aka Dolores Umbridge). Heck, even her name is a play on the words "Pain" and "Umbrage".😅

For all of the hatred and spite I carried for Umbridge; her final moment in book 5 brought it home for me, where Hermione activates her PTSD by making clopping noises.

Also, her final moment in book 7, where Harry caps her in the back. 😂

Spoilers for Game Of Thrones btw

In the Game Of Thrones books, especially A Feast For Crows (the fourth book) Cersei's chapters are comedy gold. Right after Tywin dies Cersei takes over as ruler and head of the family. Atleast in her mind, and she just thinks about the dumbest ideas, but hypes them up as if they are masterful plans. She thinks she is Tywin, or even smarter. But she is probably the dumbest out of her siblings. And especially with Tywin dead and her paranoia making her lose her mind, she is so funny, especially when competent people tell her what an idiot she is. Like Kevan Lannister who roasts her in every scene they share

In game of thrones I hated Joffrey but didn’t feel the same way about Ramsay. I was still very pleased at their deaths but Joffrey being an entitled child made him more hated in life. Ramsay was just unapologetically evil.

there's nothing quite like a character that's been written and acted out so well that no matter what you will always hate them. umbridge is a perfect example, Imelda Staunton is genuinely such a lovely lady, and the fact that she managed to become one of the most despicable characters in cinema is a great show of skill and understanding of how to become a character. even if the character is nothing like you

I hated Dolores so much when I first watched the movie I actually forgot who the main villain was lmao

I feel like the High Sparrow was more annoying than Cersei. Just because it was the only time in the show I was rooting for Cersei 😆

Dolores Umbridge. Being a Karen before Karens were Karen.
