Man this give some flash backs to my simpler times, I remember exactly where I was and still get the same chills when Carlaw went over!

This team was mixed with home grown talent and harden Ozzies similar to 2025 💙❤️💚

Memories ❤

As a Sharks supporter looking back at these matches brings so much heartbreak and pain, under John Lang in the mid 90s to early 2000s we had such a stacked team full of potential and amazing free flowing attacking football, how this team in that era never won a comp still shatters me, everytime we got to the finals it’s almost as if like we had some sort of curse on us that never allowed us to prevail.

In 1995 we lost to Newcastle in the semi final 19-18 after leading 18-6 and then the following week in the Prelim we lost 24-20 against Manly after leading 20-8 and looked comfortable for almost the entire match.

In 1996 we bowed out to Manly again 24-0 in an Elimination Final.

Lost the 97 SL GF to Brisbane
Then bowed out in the Prelims in 99,01 and 02 as well as losing in 2000 in the Qualifying final to Brisbane after being huge underdogs and leading 20-6 at one stage only for Russell Richardson to bomb a try over the line which changed momentum completely.

1999 was the year that never was, after demolishing Brisbane in the QF being Minor Premiers we choked big time against St. George in that game, leading 8-0 and looked to protect the lead rather than continue playing our style of footy, had we won that I was 100% confident we would’ve beat Melbourne in that 1999 GF.

Up The Wahs🤙🏾

Why did the warriors play in Sydney when it should’ve been a home game?
