Being a kid during this era of wrestling was so amazing.

I am 45 years old. I've been through it so far in my life and I just came across this video. I haven't thought about these names in decades but it all came back and brought me back to my childhood. Life was simple back then and loved ones hadn't passed on yet. My little sister was running around at 3 years old when I was watching this. She's gone now too.

It's so weird seeing Mr Perfect without his signature singlet.

1989.. whenever I watch these old wrestling matches, i always pay the most attention to the crowd when the camera zooms in on them. Looking at these people we just see a crowd of fans but I know that they are all much older now and I cant help but wonder where all of these folks are in life.

Don't care if you're 33 or 63 this will have you like you're 9 years old again.

Howard Finkel’s voice right before a royal rumble match was the icing on the cake. R.I.P.

Ax and Smash going 1 and 2 to start this Rumble will forever be one of my favorite Rumble moments.

I still argue to this day that Demolition has one of the greatest wrestling theme songs of all time and having to hear it twice as #1 and #2 is fantastic.

I love the wrestling period from around '87 to '90.

Look at the ages of the people in the crowd. Kids, mothers, grandmothers. Looks like the county fare. I miss these kinds of crowds.

Love this Rumble! The roster was something else in 1989

Howard Finkel smiling is good for the soul. He truly loved his job as a ring announcer and wasn’t over the top for the sake of being over the top.

Best 1 and 2 entrants in Rumble history. I remember watching this live and I came unglued when Ax and Smash came out and started fighting.

Such amazing commentary! We were so fortunate to witness stuff like this when young.

The GOLDEN ERA OF WRESTLING!! When it was a FEDERATION, NOT ENTERTAINMENT. The colors, the music, the actual wrestling, take me back!!!!!

This is an underrated rumble. I like how much more authentic the old ones feel. No high spots and finishing moves left roght and centre, just a good rumble and a small amount of storyline.

Howard finkels iconic voice and gorilla and jesse commentating. The best ever! Brought me great memories when i was a kid waiting for the royal rumble!!
