Magic Johnson made his debut for Los Angeles Lakers. Little did anyone know, Johnson would end up becoming the greatest point guards of all time. Standing at 6 feet 9 inches, Johnson was unusually large for a point guard. Many people doubted him saying he was too big to play the position. However, he immediately proved them wrong by scoring 26 points in his first game against the San Diego Clippers. I remember this game being on CBS Sports with Brent Musberger commentating.

I so rooting for Magic and the Lakers to do well. I had read the criticisms and I wasn't 100% how well Magic would do, I was just hoping he wouldn't flop! His first game let me know he could play point guard effectively in the NBA and the sky was the limit to his potential.
