Mike Shake is one of those YouTubers that you forget exists over an entire summer and then you see a new vid from him and go "Oh yeah I love this guy!"

Edit: MY NOTIFICATIONS 😭😭

Don't use hunting tips against a hard zombie head - switch to the narrow, pointy ones instead when you want to test bone penetration.

Did archery for many years, very relaxing and nice dopamine shots when hitting the 10 right in the middle.

22:18 it’s because you are using hunting tips. The knife like edges are meant for cutting through flesh and not for penetrating bone. If you want to test those tips properly use a ballistic torso, if you want to shoot the skull use the arrowheads you used for the penetration test.

9:49 just casually shooting a flying insect out of the air 😂

that sponsor is clearly a scam, like holy shit what an insane business model

Bro casually living on Naboo

HES BACK! GRAB THE POPCORN!

Great video! One piece of advice as someone who has killed a moose with a bow, is that kinetic energy isn't the most important factor for penetration. Momentum and arrow weight are far more important, but hard to quantify for how much they affect penetration. Think about a spear vs an arrow, the spear is maybe 1kg thrown at 20-30 m/s that can penetrate a boar, bear, or armor. The 25 lb recurve could certainly, to a point, drastically increase its penetration by increasing arrow weight. My 45lb recurve hunting arrow that flies around 45m/s is about 35g and could easily pass through a deer. I killed the moose at 40yds with a 65lb PSE Brute Force compound bow throwing a 27.5g arrow at around 80 m/s and got a partial pass through even hitting a rib (tip of the broadhead was sticking out the other side).

Actually, new video idea? I bet you'd get a LOT of bowhunters interested by figuring out how heavy you can shoot an arrow before having diminishing returns. Throw a 100g arrow on the recurve with a good broadhead (I suggest a cut on contact one) and see what it can do. Obviously you need to account for the increased drop of the arrow, but with the compound you can just lower the sight to compensate (to a point).

I expected a typical comparison video, but instead received a lesson in the form of a spectacular documentary.😂

aint no way mike shake sponsored freecash😭

Mike finally remembered he had a channel

29:00 this head did dodging as best it could

10:52 Good helmet bro🇩🇪

Not the freecash sponsor. You know its been proven many times that free cash is a scam

Just for info… they are all lethal and there’s no reason to shoot a head because the skull is thick and the head is a small target which moves a lot. That’s the reason snipers aim for torsos. And an accurate shot on the torso with these bows will delete someone

17:17 i felt that

1:44 compound bows are far easier to shoot because of all the equipment on them, also all the practice that you've done with a traditional bow just makes you better with a compound.

Hunting tips are not designed to penetrate bones; they are designed to slip through spaces between bones and hit the inner parts of the target.
