I freeze dried my tomatoes in 2025 and powdered them. Whenever I need tomato paste for a recipe, I just grab the tomato powder and add some to a little water! Better than commercial.

Tomato powder is awesome!  I use the skins from the tomatoes and freeze dry them and then powder them.  It makes great tomato paste, sauces...etc.  I even use it to thicken red sauces if I would like a thicker spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce.  This way none of the tomato goes to waste when I can my tomatoes.  I'm going to now make this powder.  Love your horse friends ❤

Ive been making my pepper powder for a decade. I don't have a freeze dryer, I dehydrate the peppers and run them through a coffee grinder.  I grow jalapeño, Tabasco, scotch bonnet,  Trinidad Scorpion, Ghost and Carolina Reape peppers 🌶 .

I would love for you to have a kitchen island for chopping so you can face the camera without having to turn away from your project. Maybe a rolling butcher block thing?

Powdered tomatoes are awesome!  I shake a generous amount over thick bread, then layer thin slices of butter over that and put it in the toaster oven.  YUMMY!  (If you put the powder on top, it gets pretty dark, almost burnt.)

Great idea ! Love to freeze dry garlic and onion. They do go fast though😅

I learned a trick about powders... that is to loosely put a piece of plastic wrap over the blender container before putting the lid on. It keeps the powder from flying up into the lid - losing precious powder. Also easy to clean. My FD blender has a round stainless container that i have been able to press a piece of parchmet paper over with the lid in the same way. Super easy to brush off and re-use except for perhaps a spicy powder like this one. Inspiring video as always!

Love powdering things. Haven’t got a freeze dryer, but I dehydrate my tomato skins and powder them for tomato paste. I can the tomatoes which I purchase a bushel fairly inexpensively in the long run (jars are purchased over the years so the investment is made)- the home canned tomatoes taste so good compared to commercially canned tomatoes - worth every minute of love put into them as I give away half to family and friends. Someday perhaps I’ll be able to enjoy another method of food preservation looks so much faster.

Oh my gosh what an awesome idea🎉 last year I grew so many green peppers  I use my vegetable Chopper and freeze dried little cubes. They taste so much better and work great in eggs, stews or soups, also my homegrown onions in cubes and onion powder😂😂

Unsolicited tip: Place a damp paper towel (or damp thin kitchen towel) under your cutting board and it will stabilize it for safety. :)  Excited to watch the progress of the pumpkins! As you know, it's full-on fall here in AK now, so the only growing I'm ding is in my AeroGarden. LOL

OK on your squashes they’re gonna look welted during the heat of the day but they’ll bounce back when it cools down. Be consistent with your watering, when you get the flowers on your squashes water from the base don’t let the flower get wet or you wont get a pumpkin

The seeds is where the heat is.. also Anaheim had a tough skin so when they heat up the skin is what you peel off before you eat.. I learned that the hard way.. I added the Anaheim peppers, chopped up to my spaghetti sauce and I kept getting skin so it was uncomfortable to eat..
So I started putting the Anaheim’s on the grill and the skin would just roast and come right off and I’d have this perfectly beautiful Anaheim hatch pepper. I wouldn’t try eating them with skin or throwing them in spaghetti sauce or anything that would require a pepper because you’ll end up with tough skin.. however I’m definitely gonna try your pepper powder! I’m assuming even tough skin can grind lol

I’m hoping to make some chili powder with Anaheim peppers. I also have bell peppers and some habanados, not hot habaneros. The heat here was so bad for a while even the peppers were struggling!  It’s dropped down into the 90’s now so hopefully they produce enough before it’s cold.

You need a good chopping knife. I prefer a Santoku style blade.
