This breaks my heart. She had a thriving business and this man beat her and then burned her business to the ground. I'm like 90% certain this is all on him.

Born and raised in the Bible Belt: 43 years. TONS of businesses have religious iconography or slogans in their marketing. I stayed away from those on purpose. I don't care if my plumber is Christian, Jewish, Wiccan, or anything else. And the need to market with your religion tells me that you don't expect me to trust your work, but to trust you because of your religious beliefs. No thanks.

Edit: I want to add that a common form of domestic abuse is financial abuse where the abuser tries to control their partners finances or sabotage their source of income so it is easier to control them and harder for their partner to escape, financial abuse is often overlooked compared to other forms of domestic abuse

As a survivor myself. On one hand, anyone I hurt when I was with my abuser & in survival mode doesn’t have to forgive me just because I was going through a hard time. (I did hurt family members in ways that needed to be addressed.) On the other hand, I would hope that people could understand my circumstances enough to at least not demonize me publicly for what I did when I was very much in survival mode. I was quite literally not myself at the time.

We have no idea the extent of what he did to her in private or how impossible it made for her to do her job. The couples deserve their money back, 100%. I just hope people get the context enough to not jump to the conclusion that she’s a horrible person for what she did.

Oh dude this is like watching a horror movie 😭 a woman with a passion had to share it with a man who got arrested for hurting her and she's still with him 😭😭😭 I'm scared for her and her children, and I'm sad for her passion. If she's being abused, it doesn't excuse all the pain felt by the brides, but it certainly explains it. I would even assume myself that it's all his fault if he's the kind of person to get arrested over being violent to a woman.

the scariest part is i can’t find anything anywhere about it actually being confirmed she is alive. this is so concerning, we have no confirmation that she is actually alive and right before the announcement of her shutting down her business 750k gets stolen? something very bad happened, i just hope she is alive.

As a woman who survived an abusive husband, I absolutely believe the bad business practices were her husband. If they’re amoral enough to hurt the one closest to them they will scam. I could also see him purposely ruining her business as she became more successful. They get jealous of our success. Mine tried to ruin my career as a physician. My heart absolutely breaks for her and I hope she’s able to get away and start over. If you’re reading this, it is so much better once you’re free 💕

Wedding photographer here since 2012. It's totally common and actually best practice to put down a 50% deposit to reserve the date, and the 50% a month or a few weeks before the wedding. It's very common for couples to take advantage of the wedding photographer by either never paying or not paying the full amount after photos are sent. The ideal situation is that the photographer shows up, does the work, and sends out photos on time, and then they never have to hear from each other ever again after the wedding day :).
