Summer brings a completely different atmosphere to Arashiyama.
In this video, we spend a full summer day exploring one of Kyoto’s most beautiful areas. We begin at Tenryu-ji, surrounded by lush green gardens, before walking through the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and continuing to the peaceful Okochi Sanso Garden.
After taking in the view from Arashiyama Park, we stop by % ARABICA Kyoto Arashiyama and enjoy a meal at Ozuru before crossing the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge.
As evening falls, we end the day with one of Arashiyama’s most unique summer traditions — cormorant fishing on the river, surrounded by the quiet atmosphere of Kyoto after sunset.
From bamboo groves and peaceful gardens to riverside views and a traditional summer night, this is our summer day in Arashiyama.
