🎥 Summer in Kyoto | Heian Shrine, Nanzenji & Ginkaku-ji | Japan Travel Vlog ☀️🌿⛩️
Summer in Kyoto has a charm of its own.
In this video, we spend another summer day exploring the eastern side of Kyoto. We begin at Heian-jingū Shrine, where the bright colors of the shrine and its lush garden stand out under the summer sun.
From there, we continue to Nanzenji and walk beneath the historic Waterway Pavilion before visiting Saishō-in Temple and Tenjuan. We then head up Nanzenji’s Sanmon Gate, where the view opens out over the temple grounds and the surrounding city.
Our journey continues to the quiet grounds of Hōnenin Temple before reaching Ginkaku-ji, where white sand gardens, moss-covered scenery, and a viewpoint overlooking Kyoto make for a memorable end to the day.
After leaving Ginkaku-ji, we make our way back to Kyoto Station and finish the evening with conveyor belt sushi at Sushi no Musashi.
From colorful shrines and green temple gardens to mountain views and a simple dinner in Kyoto, this was another summer day we won’t forget.
