Sammy Davis Jr. - 1960 Royal Variety Performance
The Official Sammy Davis Jr.

This was the first Royal Variety Show to be televised, as well as Sammy's first appearance in London. He stole the show that night and had more curtain calls than any other performer in the history of the show.

Oh my but there are not enough superlatives to describe just how beautiful and perfect this performance is. I was fortunate enough to have seen Bruce do his last one man show at the London Palladium, I took my ma along for her birthday present. Bruce did a superb tribute to, “My dear friend Mr Sammy Davis Jr.” Watching this, Sammy's first ever Royal Variety was an absolute delight for me. 1960 incidentally, was the year this youngster was born.
Thank you so much for the lovely memories.

Wonderful performance. I'm actually working on a magazine article right now which focuses in part upon Sammy's first trip to London and the announcement of his engagement to Britt May.
