Is it possible to find Christian values within anime? 👀
In today's episode of "Coffee with Your Priest," Father Darlan Schwaab discusses anime and shows how stories like Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z, and Jujutsu Kaisen address themes related to the Christian faith, such as sacrifice, friendship, fidelity, overcoming challenges, and hope.
Throughout the conversation, the priest also answers common questions from those who enjoy the subject: how far does the freedom to consume fiction go, what to do with works that have religious or demonic elements, and when entertainment begins to occupy a place it shouldn't.
💡 In this video, you will understand:
• Why so many anime address themes that are also central to Christian life;
• What Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball Z can awaken in those who watched them in childhood;
• How Jujutsu Kaisen raises the question "how to continue doing good in a world marked by suffering?"
• When watching anime can cease to be leisure and become a problem.
☕ A light and nerdy conversation about faith, pop culture, and the challenge of looking at what we consume with awareness and freedom.
