Mainly used beatport streaming at home, also used SoundCloud when I did my first real sets.  I’ve also just tried DJ city, yes it’s limited but once you download those tracks you keep them.

At 63 having DJd on Vinyl in a couple of Cluns in the early 80s, I stopped as my real career took off. I retired at 53, so have had a lot of time to do my bucket list. But I didnt have a hobby. As a joke, last year, my son bought me a Roland 505 for Christmas. Serato Pro. I always had lots of music. But bad MP3s. So in 20 months I have had to relearn. Re-downloaded music as WAV. I  also downloaded VDJ. So I have tagged to date managed to download or re-download 5000 tracks. Album cover info, release dates etc. Imported them to Serato. Checked all Beatgrids and changed accordingly. All Soul R&B and generally black music.
I am turning into a House purist. I have my Crates. I have actually crated my House tracks in their Sub Genre by Sub creating them by Camelot Key designation. Mix in and out cues and get out cues mid track. Now I am concentrating on mixing and trying mashups. Getting my phrasing, effects, looping and EQ use correct. Slow but working. Now re-enjoying my spare time. Unfortunately the Jog wheels on the Roland 505 are useless. Rewind is outrageously bad. But hey. See what happens. Nice informative video . Thank-you.

Been a Tidal user for near ten years & have always been one to find the freshest releases ntm new to my ears long before using Tidal, and so with an extensive number of playlists before the dj integration I've no intention of changing because now, in the last 5 years with the big shift thats happened to electronic & the revitalising of techno, ukg, and acid-house, mixed with my all-time faves of dnb, & hard house, my playlists are now extensive. I create fresh lists by Year & Month, each month splitting into parts of 50 or so tracks and now often my monthly lists can total 300 tunes easily comprising of mixed genres, fresh and new discoveries as well as classics that I find myself listening to that happens blends well with the current listening moods. As those lists build I also have Genre playlists building as well as "Shopping Cart" playlists. So an infinite stack of tunes to dj stream with, a Tidal download cache with no limits & my personal folders of music bought, my experience has been mixing at parties with usual suspects & giving them a new & welcomed journey of music that is never like the previous & tbf, I ponder if other djs/musicians have the same style as I.. From House to Trance, dnb to Acid, Psy to techno, hardgroove to hardhouse, & mainstreams that often get one play only, not because they're bad but because "The Journey's" vibe in the "now" hasn't called for it. So as you say, Listen to the song, is exactly my enjoyment. Experiencing the songs direction, takes the pressure from "choosing", & instead, influences my soul to  know exactly what to play and with Tidal & its awesome algorithm, the soul has so much music at it's reach to make my audience & myself especially to contently say - "Wow, I''ll not be able to repeat that ever, nor could I plan that tracklist." All in all, that's my Style Around Music and I like that S.A.M. and I'll  play it again. ;)

I only  beat sync when 1 -3 bpm difference and dont use key sync at all. I find some spot in the next song that can i can filter somehow with the previous one. Learning to make 126-140bpm setlist. Hard to do tho, but fun.

The relative major is NOT a different key.  It has the exact same key signature as its relative minor.  Cm, for example, uses the same key signature as its relative major, E-flat.  (b-flat and e-flat being the accidentals in that key.)  It's a different SCALE.  The major scale starts on E-flat while the minor scale starts on C.  (For my example here.), but they use the exact same notes.  Sorry to be fussy, but I think it's an important distinction.

If using streaming sources, how do you guys record? I’m using an FLX4 but will likely upgrade to an flx10 next time it’s on sale. Will always have internet access.
