I thought each Silo has about 10,000 inhabitants, how could a visitation day possibly man 50 silos in an instant when an "unexpected" nuclear blast goes off?

I see it now in the wide shot of the silos in the before time of how Juliet realized her silo was rotated. If you look at the direction of the stairwells where cameras point straight ahead towards a berm, directly opposite that, behind the stairwell and camera is a roadway leading into each silo field, and each is positioned so silo occupants never see or imagine a way out. They only know to believe the desolation in front of them and the only way to stay safe is to remain inside. So many levels of control went into that plan, it’s crazy.

The Silo project was just 2 years early. It was originally a 5 year project that ran just 3 years. It could have even been done sooner if Daniel had joined along.

Stensen definitely fits the profile, but it feels too easy. Charlotte definitely knew something was up. And Henry was definitely in on the whole thing that bastard.

Per makes it perfectly clear that the silos filters can filter out the nano compound

it's clear they erased charlottes memory and she doesn't know who Danielle is. she sent off the nuke probably from silo 1 on  the  other silos because she was programmed to think the silos were the enemy. maybe the enemy that killed her team. im assuming at some point a relic in silo 1 gives her some portion of her memory back

Maybe it even was not a real bomb, but some orchestration so the people get in the silos.

Did you notice her saying: "this project will safeguard all people". Using the word safeguard was kinda ironic

The “nuclear blast” was actually an enlarged screen like the one in the cafeteria. The aftermath of the high speeds was manufactured. Process that thought!

My only issue is to build 40 more diggers, dig the holes and build all these massive concrete structures would take at least 30 years to build.

The senator would not be very worried about her speech down to the applause and the laughter the way she was. If she knew the bomb was just about to go off.

I think they already told us everything, but it’s easy to miss.

When Helen was talking with Senator about the Silos, she asked if they were basically like the seed bank in Svalbard. Thurman then said that the seeds would be people.

so what if the world is actually still habitable, and the Silos were built to preserve only a portion of the human population?

Like the Svalbard Seed Vault: you preserve some seeds as a backup while the rest are still being used normally.

So maybe the people in the Silos are basically the “preserved seeds” of humanity, while the rest of the population continues living on the surface. and its only the end of Atlanta

And if that's true, the big question is: why did Per Stensen spend so much money creating the Silos and preserving those people?

I think they used a nuke for 2 reasons:

1) They needed something terrifying and unarguable to drive everyone into the silos and have them want to lock the doors behind them.

2) The fallout from the nuke would actually protect the outside of the silos from the real danger, which I predict will be nanobots. I think the rest of the world is going to be wiped out by Per Stenson. The little machines will  spend a few weeks purifying the earth, in the mean time everyone in the silos are safe as most digital tech can’t function in highly radioactive areas unless heavily shielded. Learned that in Chernobyl.
Bet that’s what Iran was really about. It was a test to see if the nukes radiation would stop the nanobots. Bet they weren’t even Iranian, bet they were all Stenson’s bots, and it was just a small scale test. The test was successful, so Per Stenson puts his Silo project into full swing.

Stetson started ww3, had his own nuke. Detonated it to force people in the silos. America panics and starts blasting other countries, they fire back, the world dies as well as all the nano tech. His silo repopulation project worked. Human civilization will start again. This or he knew exactly when ww3 was going to start. But the location and timing of the bomb leaves me skeptical that he actually started it

Not end of the world. End of Atlanta area. We don't know what the world in Texas, Europe,  Asia, etc looks like

It was Stensen who fired the bomb. When he was showing Daniel and Helen the site where the silos were being built he said that it was very vast area of more than 400 miles and that the silos were basically isolated from the rest of the world so what I think is that the rest of the world is unaware that a nuclear bomb went off and for the last 500 years things have going on like they normally do in the rest of the world and that Silos are just Stensen's personal social experiement
