🧐Frequently Asked Questions About Our Online Lessons:
Q❓: I have no experience with katana. Will I still be able to catch up?
A💡: You don’t need any previous katana martial arts experience to participate in our lessons.

Seki Sensei, the instructor of the online lessons, will carefully instruct you on how to handle the katana regardless of your level. You will also be able to access all the videos of the past lessons so you can watch what every other student has learned. You can also send us videos of your progress, and Seki Sensei will be happy to give you feedback.

Q❓: What is the right length of the Iaito (zinc alloy training katana) I should use?
A💡: Please purchase an Iaitō at least two blocks longer than the standard length.

The standard length for Seki Sensei is about 177cm, so he should use a 2.45 Shaku long katana. However, he uses a 2.6 Shaku-long katana that is supposed to be used by someone 190cm tall. If the katana is too short, it becomes too easy to draw, which is not good for training.

Q❓: Can I join even if I belong to a different Ryuha style?
A💡: Yes, it’s not a problem at all.

The Seki Sensei himself has trained in more than five styles and various other weapons. If you don’t want others to know that you are participating, you can join the online lessons with your camera off. To have the Sensei check your progress, you can send us a video of you practicing.

If another live action tmnt film is ever done again, Sensei should be one of the instructors/fight coordinators.

We just finished our second lesson in this 😊👍 We have a very long way to go but we love it so much😊 We also do Asayama Ichiden Ryuha Katana it's also brilliant 👍Master Seki and his instructors are fantastic and Shogo Sans translation brings it all together ❤️ Take care. Stay safe 🙏

It is always a treat to watch Seki Sensei!

That was truly impressive. I would have never thought such a short staff could have such a long reach. Sensei makes it look so effortless.

I remember training in iaido a long time ago as a teenager, and being reluctant to spend time learning jodo because it didn't involve a blade. However, I now find the jo to be one of my favorite weapons-- even more so than the katana.

I truly hope it never comes to it but it would be amazing to see seki sensei in real combat. His movements and techniques are so refined and perfect.

Bro is the most fit elder in Japan

My favorite weapons are the ones that are the most utilitarian. A staff I can grab anywhere. Its just a simple machine. You're actual weapon is leverage, just like a lever. Their strength is your strength. Its simple.

Simply beautiful

Despite needing to be skeptical about online martial arts, I’m drawn to your videos. You’re very professional, and any esoteric techniques are given their proper historical context.
Lessons are to expensive for me, though. I’ll just practice the stuff you show for free unless I can find a dojo

Please review Blue Eye Samurai. We would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the different sword play.

Watching this video paused and pressing . and , to go frame by frame to see exactly what Sensei is doing.

Excellent as always!❤

Thank you for another beautiful video!

Forgive me, but I keep  finding myself unable to catch the name of Seki Sensei's assistant that we often see in the videos... He is also quite skilled and I appreciate his willingness to be on the receiving end of Seki Sensei's techniques... I know you have mentioned it, but I keep missing it somehow. For some reason, and no disrespect is intended, I want to refer to him as "Bob-san"... I catch myself sometimes saying "Oh! Poor Bob-san!" when he is taken down while they are doing the kata. I would prefer to be able to refer to him by his own name, so if you would be so kind to share it in a comment, if he allows, that would be wonderful. Thank you!

Also, I want to thank you and Seki Sensei for continually educating us on the techniques, history and culture of Asayama Ichiden Ryu.

Excellent video!

I don't often get to see interesting Jo staff kata as Seki Sensei has demonstrated.

Thanks for this lesson... ❤❤
Sensei , could you please teach how to counter a slash cut ( diagonal swing, for example the opponent swing his sword from top right to bottom left ) ? 🙏

@letsasksekisensei can you do a video on the diffrence between katana profiles like a hira zukuri and a SHINOGI-ZUKURI.

Thank you.
