Caroline, no clue if you’ll see this, but I was one of the men who came to your channel and stuck around because I’m anxious or whatever 😂 I was looking for design guidance after a surprise (to me) divorce left me living in a home by myself for the first time ever. And it’s an open loft apartment with tall gray walls, so it’s been quite the project, but I’m discovering my personal style, feeling a personal sense of accomplishment every time a corner of my home finally clicks and feels like me, and generally coming around to feeling like myself. For someone who I don’t know personally whose work is also broadcast to 1 million+ other people (congrats btw!) you’ve been an outsized source of hope and joy this year and I wanted to tell you how much not only your expertise, but also vulnerability and candor is appreciated. Enjoy your home! I’m with Meryl now and she says it looks great

Re: avoiding design risks because people might not like them - I just want to say that your design style is VERY different from mine (I prefer more minimalist style and often find patterns to be overwhelming) and because of that there's always going to be choices you'll make that I won't necessarily like, but literally never in a million years would I think you're a failure because of it!!

I'm here every video SO curious and eager to see what sparks excitement and joy from you, regardless of if I would want it in my home or not. I'm here to see you get excited about your home, not to see you design your home for me.

So paint the trim green! If you love it, I love to see it ❤

Girl, I don't watch your channel because we have the same taste, it's because I like seeing what you're going to do! I think people just like the opportunity to give their opinion.

Hi, I'm Merel and I will NOT comment something bad about your design choices. Loved seeing the way you made the spaces work!

That study belongs in a magazine Caroline, it looks freaking AMAZING! Honestly, the way you've framed the table in the doorway and that gallery wall, just incredible, and the rest of it looks great too.

Okay hear me out: A lot of the color/pattern choices aren't my personal preference BUT I think it's a testament to your eye for composition that when I look at the room as a whole, it still reads as cozy and perfectly pleasing to my brain. I think you strike such a masterful balance of choosing items and finishes that YOU love while crafting a space where anyone could feel comfortable. I'm honestly so impressed.

I have an odd compliment for you! Your videos are the only ones where I watch the sponsored portion. You actually make it interesting and usually really funny! It’s brilliant to make it that way 😊

Two things.

1. I consider myself a cat expert, as a life long cat lover. I love all cats. However, in my most humble professional opinion, Whitley is a superior specimen. He is perfectly round and chonky, adorable, and so affectionate and playful. He is the ultimate cat. Congratulations.

2. You NAILED that study. It is breath-taking.

Nothing says safe, loving, secure home better than a cat just simply sleeping while the world exists around him

So. I realized two years ago, when my mother died, that I’d spent my entire adult life decorating my homes for her taste. I’m 64. How many years have I wasted decorating for someone who never lived with me? So now, I’m learning to not fear decorating for myself. Your decorating style is yours. You live there. You are successful and I’ve enjoyed popping in and seeing what you have done with your home. It’s always charming - always lovely too - always interesting - there is always something surprising that sparks an oh! Look at that! In me, and I love it! Don’t ever, ever worry about us out here. We aren’t ever going to live there, and you matter. Your comfort matters. Your joy matters to us! So do as you will to your home. That’s all we want from you. Well, except for Meryl! But she is obviously unhappy in herself, and maybe she needs therapy. Or maybe her therapist told her that the only safe way to criticize someone is to do it online! Edit: Oh! And I love your gallery wall!

Caroline, your best video, thus far, was the penultimate one where you painted your dining room ?aqua? because it was so relatable and honest. I have been watching your videos since you put the wallpaper up on your bedroom ceiling and you just struck a chord. Don’t scale back your designing vibe. I believe a lot of us watch your videos because of your designing acumen.

My 10 and 6 six year old daughters and I had a rough week. After school, we got dairy queen, snuggled up on the couch and watched your video like it was Christmas morning. Thank you for making the content wholesome and real. You inspire big and little girls to explore their creativity and to not fear "failing." Thank you and Happy Holidays to you and your whole family. P. S. I work with immigrants and wanted to give my support to Justin during these hard times. (I recall you said he worked for USAid.) Much love from Akron, Ohio.

I watch your channel religiously even though I don't prefer your style (I am way too minimal in my own house and I love the peace that brings me), your authenticity is healing. I hope you realize how much you help so many people with just being yourself. You go girl!

Clearly the BEST design choice for this house was getting the cat. He makes everything 1000% better.

@rinsav 9 months ago

The addition of that cat has made your videos even better. I squee and have to refocus when he's on screen

the study has me absolutely gobsmacked holy cow

Caroline, please whatever you do, don’t water yourself down!!! I LOVE your bold taste, style, and personality! Your channel has been my North Star for years! Your transparent approach to everything you do is so real and relatable. It’s absolutely empowering. Your mistakes make you whole and it makes the accomplishments feel that much more rewarding. Seeing how far you’ve come over the years, your growth, your setbacks, your genuine happiness is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for helping millions of people in ways that go beyond wallpaper on a wall ❤️ You’ve inspired not only me but everyone here to find the simple joys in life. You’re given people the ability to make a house a HOME. A big thank you from my own family. Happy holidays to you, Justin, and Whitley ❤️
