Gundam games are so frustrating because the pieces of a truly great one are there but scattered across ten different games that have thier own individual flaws.

How do the ingame cutscenes look leagues better than so many of the Gundam games from the PS3 era, those devs deserve more credit

In Crossbone Gundam. Crossbone Vanguard, which were the enemies in Gundam F91 gets reformed by Cicelly and Seabook. So they eventually become the good guys. Earth Federation becomes lethargic and is starting to fade out of the storyline. A new enemies appears known as the Jupiter Empire. Which is where Sirocco from Zeta Gundam comes from and it's up to the New Crossbone Vanguard to fight them.

They really should make a gundam RPG. One with great story.
Breaker series were great but there's tons of missing stuff that I want. For one, the story is more of an advertisement of gunpla than an actual gundam story.

if I had 3 wishes, I would wish for a a full (official) translation of the Japan only Gundam games (especially Gihren’s Greed, omg), a full translation of the Another Century Episode series, and a modern re-release of MS Saga.
The end to war? Famine? Disease? Get your own wishes, I have my priorities.

Play this game at 2006 something.
I have a blast, making strongest character by using first GM or zaku2 throughout character making mode.
By the end of game most of my stats is around 42-44.
My favorite skill line up is
(Gentle)
Passive skills:
Sharpness.
Skill involving the facing of the ms while locking.
Dauntless(hp below 1/3 stat up)
Potential(hp below 1/3 charge up)
Skill involving weak/outdated ms.
Active skill:
Skill that increase stats temporarily
(Hot blooded)
Passive skills:
Skill involving outdated/weak ms.
Morale(increase speed of charge melee).
Skill reducing melee damage.
Skill increase Shield defense.
Anti stun.
Active skill:
Succesful evasion
(Cool)
Passive skills:

Power custom(increase main weapon strength, but reducing ammo).

I probably would have played this game like crazy, if I had it back in the day

since you brought up wanting a Gundam game where the feature of MA mode granting unlimited flight, there's this Gundam game series called Gundam Battle series that does exactly that
I recommend just skipping straight into between Gundam Battle Universe or Gundam Assault Survive
it's kinda similar to Climax UC where transformable units (especially from Zeta/ZZ era) that they can only use their main weapon (melee is resorted to ramming instead), but to compensate you'd (usually) fire your main weapon with no delay instead of normally shooting in 3-burst combo in MS mode, few specific units can also toggle "hover" mode which is usually reserved for late tech mobile suits, but there are few from early UC like the Zeong or Byarlant, notably since they're still MS they can also use their subweapons as well as melee
Gundam Assault Survive added transformation for the RX-78-2 by giving it B-Parts out of thin air instead, there's also Kyrios Gundam whose MA mode is unique that it has weapons exclusive to the MA mode and you can even swap your Main and use Sub,
while this is consistent feature across the series, going MA mode while underwater will instantly shoot you back up to the surface, it's super handy traversing GAS' really huge maps especially with the infinite flight and aerial grunt units
also Gundam Assault Survive has the F91 campaign with the G-Cannon and Heavygun included as playable units

I have this game. It's very fun. I have also read the manga.
Anyway, the optimal way to play from my experience of having made each of the four characters is to always be underpowered. I mean it. By the Crossbone section, I was only using a Zaku III Custom. The more underpowered your MS is, the higher the stat point gain. Also, I always picked Nagisa as the mother. My resulting character stats, save for my first run, would always be a line of 50+ in all stats.
For a short rundown, from 0079 to the first mission of Zeta, I would stick to the GM. From the next mission to F91, I would be on the GM II or something stronger than that but weaker than the Zaku III Custom. By the Crossbone section, I'd be using the Zaku III Custom (I've tried using something weaker but it's not worth the headache. At least the Zaku III Custom has a strong enough charge shot to down most grunts).
As for the transition from F91 to Crossbone, long story short, the main heroine of F91 is part of the family that owns the Crossbone Vanguard. She takes over and steers the organization towards a different direction. The MC of F91 and the pilot of the black Berga Dallas that you fight in the previous stage work for her.
As for the manga for this game, we never see Kamuna again because he becomes a high ranking officer of the EF.

22:46 By the way, this pink-haired girl is voiced by Nana Mizuki. She is also the only Gundam character voiced by Mizuki so far.
