I wasn't surprised at the news at all. I just really hope RTD is fuming inside and embarrassed from this break-up, as I'm so tired of hearing his gaslighting, narcissistic comments towards the audience from every interview or post he does. Russell cannot admit he was wrong in anyway with the decisions he's made. In his bubble, everything went perfectly fine and according to plan. He's just a very sad, petty old man.

The desperate grab at audience retention by casting Billie Piper for a cameo regeneration with no forward planning whatsoever really bothered me.
Felt like someone jingling keys in front of a baby.

First episode of the new series, TARDIS lands on Earth and the Doctor says “Earth? I havent been here in 1000 years” no need to tie up any of RTDs loose ends and half ideas. Or for a soft reboot have an amnesiac Doctor meeting the Daleks, Master etc all for the first time. The Doctor knowing every planet and enemy by name always did my head in during the modern era.

These three giant turnips. BBC with the rights, Disney with the money and Bad Wolf with the staff. All of them, endlessly floundering and fighting each other. The only thing they could all agree on was making high budget, tiktok ready shit that they happened to slap the Doctor Who name on. That is exactly what happened. They did everything they set out to do.

I totally think they should do a reboot similar to what jj abrams did with Star Trek. An alternate reality where something happens and we restart with an alternate universe but all the old stuff still happened in its own time

It would've been so much easier to leave it with Ncuti starting to regenerate and then flash to white before his face changes. Would've given them total, easy free reign to decide what to do next. Could've started again with a totally new face in the role five years from now, new pov companion running into the new doctor for some simple adventure just like how it all started with Rose.
Now there is always gonna be this awkward moment where the Doctor became Billie Piper for 3 seconds of screentime for absolutely no resaon, unless they actually do bring her back which will be such a confusing and weird way to start any kind of soft reboot.

7:31: this is one of the many reasons this was worse than the OG Wilderness Years because the plot gaps were a lot clearer to build something of off, this lingering plot thread is now either something that gets forgotten about, or it’s something the show has now been shackled with until it’s resolved like with the Timeless Child

Anyone else think it’s ironic that they’re desperate for funding but in who history the times it’s been low/self budgeted it’s the most successful and the times it has a huge budget the show was “less successful” to be diplomatic.

Lack of budget was what forced them to be creative in the past.
