I have no doubt I would have been a better student back in the day if I had teachers who could have presented the curriculum in the way you have done here with this video. Not only am I up to speed on the history of the Moody Blues, but this was a Master Class of YT video enjoyment. Thanks!
My dad bought me this in fifth grade when it first came out. I basically played it until the grooves were worn out. That album and Sergeant Pepper lived on my turntable the entire fifth and sixth grade years
Thank you for reminding me of a great band. Saw the Moodies in San Antonio, TX in the early Seventies. They played until they couldn't play any more and then they sat of the edge of the stage and shook hands and chatted with the fans.
Another video with lots of facts I didn’t know. I was not really a big Moody Blues fan. They were talented and I’ve learned to appreciate them now. I particularly love the way you related them to the Beatles 😊. That always makes me happy
What a thorough review of a groundbreaking band. I saw Justin Hayward last year and a friend saw John Lodge a few months before he passed. Thank you GT!!!
Great story. I remember listening for what seemed like hours waiting to hear Nights in White Satin on the radio before deciding to buy the album so I could hear not only that song whenever I wanted, but the entire "symphony". The "Moodies" are one of my favorite bands of all time. One thing to add. Denny Laine eventually became a member of McCartney's band Wings. Until watching this video I wondered how that relationship formed. Now I know. Thank you!
I remember well the Moody Blues in the 60's. I had copies of Nights in White Satin on 8-track & vinyl and it was the very first music CD I ever purchased which I still have. The music is as fresh today as it was then. I love your commentary! It's always very interesting and moves at the right pace. You have a great voice for it all! Kudos to you! Looking forward to more!
