In my home we watch 'Twin Peaks' ( David Lynch and Mark Frost) at least once a year. Nothing more abstract and wonderful than that show. I still don't fully understand it. David lynch is a total genius, Cheers!
In Jungian function psych, intuition may present itself through Intellect and Emotion, but its essence boils down to the Hunch. In the extreme, outward intuition is, put very simply, the fascination with potentials that is exhausted and ceases to inspire once the potential of something is mapped out and concretized. An example of this type would seem to be the movie Into The Wild, for instance. It openly displays the typical willingness to abandon, a lack of concern for the object which is used to stimulate the hunch. Inward intuiton is directed not at external objects but internal ones which are equally mystifying in their seeming independence and inexhaustibility to the subject (see The Thing Itself), but not in the sense of what-is but what could be; which is why inward intuition is an entryway for the divine images to play out their ever-changing spectacle into one's fantasy. (The opposite function to Intuition would be sensation, which is equally observant but concerned with what-is in the concrete and material sense.)
The "logic" that Lynch seems to be talking about is akin to the "logic" that some LSD experimenters claim of their experiences while under the effects of LSD: those experiences all fit together in an amazing and necessary way, but it can't quite be communicated to others once the effects have worn off.
What Lynch seems to want to say albeit unclearly and in a weird back and forth manner, is that his movies are logical, yet it's a higher plane of logic - hence the insistance on intuition.
The orders of abstraction he mentions are heavily mediated through symbolical language. If you read a David Lynch joint like a dream, the more psychoanalytical skill you have, the more meaning you uncover.
That's why he insists on both careful observation of details and letting go.
I'm not sure he consciously understands the full scope of his work given the language he uses.
There's a reason why Lynch has been deemed that fascinating since his movies came out. Why out of all weirdo directors, he got to become the cool Hollywood one.
