Daniel Ingham died at Doran's Bend on the 27th in the evening qualifying, race organisers said.
The 33-year-old, from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, leaves behind his wife, Helayna, his son Joey and daughter Phoebe. RIP 🙏

My husband & I first went to the IOM TT in 1984. We arrived in the afternnon & heard the bikes practicing so decided to walk up to the track to watch. We came across a small laneway that was blocked off & wondered how we could get to the track. Next moment several race bikes came flying past as the small laneway was the track. We went back in later years to support fellow Australian sidecar teams & unfortunately lost a good friend in a sidecar race. You cannot fully appreciate the speed unless you are there. We took our adult daughter one year & after watching the first riders fly past she turned around to us with eyes as big as saucers & said, 'Those blokes are crazy'. My husband & I race sidecars & when you are competing you do not appreciate the speed as you are all going around the same speed so all you are doing is attempting to go quicker than those around you.

typically, a rider will look and focus at the furthest visible point. But will focus on the 3 points of negotiating the next turn, one after the other. The entry point; the apex; and the exit.

The speed limit only applies in the towns and villages, the open country has no speed limit the rest of the year.

I don't know if Dolly was too stunned to talk or Jon didn't give her a chance. Either way, Dolly's face was a picture.

That biker who went off, when he was about to start back out to rejoin the track, no other bikers would have been visible they would have been cornering there at about 70mph it's the responsability of the srewards to yellow flag a warning, not sure they done it on time it seems though a steward was running to try to prevent him rejoining.

Haha, I love it when Americans react to the IoM TT, because it’s always such a spectacle—full of theatrics and over-the-top reactions. But perhaps that’s just how it seems to me, as a German; after all those years on the German Autobahn, my reaction to the TT is basically just, "Okay, yeah, that’s pretty fast"—but certainly not anywhere near that level of exaggeration, since we’re accustomed to high speeds here. Nevertheless, I truly admire the skill required to master - and survive - this road race.
