Steve Wilson got a lot of inspiration from Ian Anderson and remixed many Jethro Tull albums then accompanied Tull on the 'Thick as a Brick 2' world tour as the sound engineer. How he manages to do these things and work with Porcupine Tree as well as his solo stuff shows his amazing talent and energy for his art.
Yep, the whole album is brilliant. Wait until you hear the song, My Ashes. Steven also does an acoustic version of Sentimental that will crush your soul.
The wonderful thing about Steven and Porcupine Tree is their live music is better than the original. My introduction to PT was with the Anesthesize live album, all of it excellent.
I love that you're still doing Porcupine Tree reactions even if they don't get as many views. Open Car live is fantastic. It was the first song of theirs I ever heard and so it has a special place in my heart.
I saw them live for their Fear of a Blank Planet tour in Australia. Easily the best live show I've ever been to and I've been to 30+ live shows. Second in place was when I saw Steven Wilson for his solo Raven That Redused to Sing tour.
I had a VIP for the solo tour show and I got to meet him and get a picture with him plus some posters signed. He was so lovely - seemed very humble and almost kind of shy.
Every thing he does is magic. Two I know will blow you away are stevens band, Watchmaker and luminol, both off the Album.....The Raven that refused to sing. The live versions from Mexico are just another Level.
