Cough Syrup and Being Alive are probably the only contenders for “least overly dramatic, yet most downright honest” performances across the entire show. It also felt like this was a turning point in Rachel and Quinn’s relationship. It was the first time they straight up saw each other instead of seeing the idea they had of each other, and I love that for them.

It's their only duet the whole show and their voices work so nice together 😢

Great analysis!! Pretty/Unpretty and Dog Days are Over are probably among my favorite, criminally underrated Glee covers. Also I just love the Faberry-isms of Pretty/Unpretty lmao

I was not a glee fan, but I looked up this song based on your recomendation. You're right, they did a great job with it.

For me, Songbird was the greatest Glee performance. The way Naya put her whole heart and talent into that performance inspired a whole generation of young queer girls to believe that our love was equal and deserved to be on tv ❤ RIP Naya. We will always love you

The way this song has haunted me since the first time I heard it because of just how beautiful it is is something I've struggled to articulate for over a decade, so thank you for finally giving it words.

When they perform True Colours, that's one of my top 3 for sure.

One Less Bell To Answer/A House is Not A Home is tied with this one for me! 😩

I feel pretty/unpretty is definitely one of the best conceived performances in the show.
You should also do an analysis on Cough Cyrup, when I was a teenager that's the one who stuck with me the most. Not only because of the powerful performance of Darren, but also the backgroud scene of Karofsky gives the metaphor of the lyrics a double mining, drinking the Cough Cyrup to get better or drinking it to numb/eliminate yourself, to keep trying or give up like Karofsky.

Very good analysis, Glee just knows how to do mashups

Unpretty mashup, if I die young, landslide, dream on and anything goes are my favorite glee songs

I love almost all the Glee songs, but I totally agree about this. “I Feel Pretty/Unpretty” is the one song I most often replay.

Glee did some of the best mashups of all time. I love some of the ones they did in the beginning: Halo/Walking on Sunshine, and It's My Life/Confessions. The songs are really different but they somehow made the combinations work.

Cough Syrup is still my favorite.

I actually looked it up after this video because I haven't seen it in a while. I teared up. It still hits so emotionally 😭😭😭.

I’m one of the few ppl who actually love Run Joey Run. I wouldn’t day it’s my best but it was still good.

It’s a great number from an otherwise forgettable episodic arc. I always return to this cover whenever I suffer a massive blow to my self-esteem

My favourite is Take me or Leave me, think it works so well.

I was literally saying the exact thing to my husband a few weeks ago. This is THE perfect Glee song.

Smooth Criminal, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I Wanna Hold Your Hand are my favorites, but I love anything Chris Colfer or Naya Rivera sings tbh. Rose's Turn is a very close second favorite as far as Chris's songs.

dont even watch the show, but from the thumbnail, I knew exactly what song. 100% agree, perfectly summarizes why its the best
