This Ideal 61-950 kit costs only 1/3 as much as a Fluke 2062 tracer kit with similar functions.  However, one notable area where the Fluke unit beats the Ideal is that the Fluke has 3 signal-strength levels on the transmitter and 8 sensitivity levels on the receiver, whereas the Ideal has only a single strength level on the transmitter and 4 sensitivity levels on the receiver.  When multiple wires are crowded together, the reduced transmitter signal strength reduces signal bleed-through onto adjacent conductor/circuits.  Combined with the Fluke receiver's additional sensitivity levels, this allows more precise signal discrimination and circuit identification when conductors and circuits are crowded together.

I am getting into the field and found this video. Gonna confess I followed about 70% of it but some stuff I have not yet learned, still this was good to see. thank you

Just passed the aptitude test, interview is next month. Your videos were a big help, keep up the good work

Mad, thank you so much for teaching. I like your videos, no background music, the quiet helps me listen better :)

“Hey — longtime viewer. I’ve watched nearly all your videos. You recommend a couple of thermal camera brands, but there’s a real gap: nobody’s done a detailed diagnostic deep-dive on thermal imaging itself. I just picked up the Fluke TiS75 and would love to see you cover the full technical side. If you made a 20-plus minute comprehensive tutorial, here’s what would make it the definitive video:

1. Full menu and settings walkthrough — every function, not just the basics
2. Emissivity: what it is, how to set it correctly for drywall, tile, copper, ductwork
3. IR-Fusion levels and when to use each blend
4. Color palettes — which palette for which job and why
5. Min/Max/Avg temperature markers and how to read them on a real wall
6. Real field demos: moisture detection behind tile and grout, radiant floor heat verification, insulation gaps, electrical panel hot spots, HVAC leaks
7. File management — getting images off the camera and into client reports
8. Common mistakes that give false readings

That video doesn’t exist yet. You’d be the only result when contractors search this model. Happy to share real-world use cases from active job sites if that helps your script.”❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😅

Thanks for the great video, it was the final convincing that I needed for this kit. Great real world examples

Can never go wrong with out your troubleshooting tools

I've been an electrician for 44 years and do industrial, residential, commercial, and agricultural work and do a lot of circuit tracing. The capabilities of this kit are game changers as far as I'm concerned and the  features are awesome as well notably having multiple displays that change their orientation and 600v capability. I will be purchasing this kit asap.

Really good insight on what and how a receiver and transmitter work

It's my go to for sure. Very durable in industrial plant environments and it cleans up well.

The most useful video ever.

thank you so much.  worth every penny

Nice video, I just got the pro tracer. I can tell this man is pro buy the way the blade is in the sawzall. I always do that to make shallow cuts

Thanks for the tips i  have a old model and now i got better understanding on how to use it i do like the newer model

How can you use it to determine a break in a circuit?

1:43 that's awesome

Wow! Thanks!

Does it detect bootleg grounded receptacles?
