Brooo the movement argument is soooo trueeee, the old games just feel so much better. You are the first one I hear talking about this, thank youuu 👏👏

YES!! the hood coming off in cutscenes drove me crazy omg, it's not the end of the world but damn😅

This is the best review of Resynced that I have watched. You can tell that it was made by a real fan and not just by a casual gamer. Those "little" details matter and I hope ubisoft is watching and learning.

YOOOO FONALLY NEW UPLOADDDD could you tell the Devs to PLEASE rework the horrible camera cut for dual assassinations I hate it so much😭

Ever since Valhalla, I’ve always hated the first step the characters take when walking. It’s like a stomp before walking normally.

Black Flag is my personal favorite AC game it got me into the franchise, really enjoying the remake.

Definitely agree about the combat. I understand Singapore likely didn't have the experience or resources to rebuild disarming, musket, hidden blade and unarmed combat from the ground up within the RPG combat framework. That's something I expected Montreal to do a long time ago, and I truly pray that they're going to overhaul the combat at least somewhat for Hexe. Because that will bode well for any and all future ACs by Quebec, Bordeaux and Singapore.  The game director for Resynced has alluded to potentially adding hidden blade combat post-launch, but unfortunately said that disarming and muskets are unlikely. So it's looking like we might get at least a few more things back from the OG.

Despite all of this, I do enjoy what's there. Especially vaulting over people, kicking them into stuff, rope dart + sweep. There's a solid framework there. I think Ubi needs to look to the likes of Tsushima and Yotei, instead of trying to be a Soulsborne-lite hitbox system with no visual flair. There are moments in Resynced, with the healthbars off and the parry effects toned down, where it does genuinely start to feel like something more cinematic. They just have to keep pushing in that direction. Sucker Punch uses what they call "linked animations", and it's basically their own interpretation of what AC used to do. Ubi has to go back and look at not just how to recreate that older system, but improve it in much the same way the Ghost games did.

Long video by Master Assassin = Masterpiece of a movie

Yeah. I talked to that guy way later in the story and Edward's dialogue actually changes depending on when you talk to him.
If you talk to him early in the story Edward will go on about how treasure and riches and doing as he pleases is the true meaning of freedom and stuff.
But if you talk to him late in the story Edward will say that he used to believe freedom was doing whatever he wanted but he's come to realize the true meaning of freedom through purpose.

Finally someone mentioning the floaty feeling while walking wiht Edward. It has no weight to it.

Congratulations MasterAssassin!

Dude yes the kill sounds are absurd

HONESTLY BRO  the remake has alot of potential. right now its ok but it feels like they rushed some things. I hope they show this game love with patches and post launch content as they did the previous installments. And I miss moving the analog to walk slow 😭😭

I really enjoyed Resynced but will likely go back to the original if I want to experience Black Flag again. I'm in complete agreement about the Maynard storyline and how it makes Edward look so dumb and delete his character development. Great review, I was super excited for this video and you delivered!

I am heavily addicted to this game. Stayed up way later than I should have the past few nights playing lol

My biggest complaint with Resynced that I don’t think I’ve seen people talk about much is to do with the A World Without Gold questline. My biggest complaint is that is FEELS like they made Edward dumber than he actually is in order to make Maynard seem like a cunning villain, I predicted exactly what was going to happen while i was playing through it lol. Other than that, Resynced is still a faithful to the most part remake of one of my favorite games ever, so i had tons of fun with it!

Just finished Resynced late last night, and my honest rating is 8.5/10. It’s like MasterAssassin said, the movement and controls feel stiff and difficult to adjust to at certain times, particularly certain stealth sections. The combat was actually pretty good. Like in my opinion it balances out that need for challenge that many players felt that a lot of the earlier titles were lacking but also designs it so that you  can still handle enemies without too much difficulty if you time your attacks right. You can tell that they tried to stick to the overall roots of  Blackflag (minus the hidden blade, combat aspects or picking up enemy weapons). I know a lot of people are happy that they’ve removed a good chunk of the tailing missions and the original modern day office worker aspect.

The naval combat is a tad bit more challenging this time around,  I’m glad I went for both of the new naval officers they offered earlier on in the game cause their abilities do come in handy for the ship, I also liked the fact the jackdaw had more weapon variety this time around which you acquire over the course of your exploration.
The jackdaws overall design looks closer to what it did in the cinematic trailer and looks more realistic. I love that we finally got full blown underwater gameplay with it being as simple as just jumping off the jackdaw and diving into the sea. Thought it was cool that they actually removed the need to use the diving bell for certain smuggling dens. Taking over forts felt a lot more engaging this time around considering your actual crew follow you off the ship to storm the fortress

The extra dialogue and story gameplay was a welcome addition, really helped deliver. I liked the fact that Edward could manually jump up ledges or buildings like Ezio. The Full open world was a nice touch like Havana, Nassau, Kingston, Great Iguana, Tulum, etc. The world is beautiful and surprisingly offered a lot more than I expected.

I’m honestly surprised and happy with the amount of cast members that they were able to bring back for the remake. Was really expecting just a lot of the same recycled dialogue so it was a welcomed surprise.

This game had me wishing they did a sequel to Edward’s story, something i wished for years ago, I know that Edward only lived for another decade after the end of Blackflag and that the naval combat would be excluded, but I think Edward is a well enough received character like Ezio that he could be given a direct sequel that explores his life as a master assassin in London and traveling the world up until 1735.

I don’t really feel like I need to cover the downsides to the game, cause chances are, Yours and my complaints are the same about the game.

One thing I wish they did for the Kenway’s fleet (especially since they used the actual map of the world). It would be cool to join in with your ships on missions or say there could be a large fleet of ships that could randomly pop up on the map and it would be cool to say select some ships to go with you on that mission, whether it be you actively sail there on the map or you select the mission and it fast travels you to there and you can engage a fight with your fleet. I like seeing the other ships in the game and fighting with them but I wish it wasn’t as rare. It would really make you feel like a Captain or Commander of a fleet if you could sail with them. Like in AC 3 you could call bodyguards/disguise to walk with you and in AC 2 games you just call upon them to fight with you. That would’ve added so much depth and added more replay ability to the game in the naval side. If they do an AC Rogue remake I would love this concept to make it to the game because I remember playing the missions where you’d have the British ships fighting with you and those would be cool. If you could have a mini fleet (3-4) at least sail with you and follow you around to engage in ship battles with that would just be cinema in my opinion. But just imagine if they would be able to bring your entire 10 ship fleet to battle and engage with another fleet of Man o Wars, Frigates, etc. That would be absolutely perfect in my opinion

55:42 I would say implementing a custom outfit section in Resynched would've been nice

I'm right there with you about the movement in this compared to the OG. I was playing the original not too long ago and I definitely prefer its control scheme to the remakes. I hope they implement a legacy scheme at some point through updates, it would make my enjoyment of the game that much better.
