Notes
- The Phylogeny seen in this video is a direct translation of the official phylogeny of Monster Hunter as found in the Sunbreak Book, with only the binomial names being added by me. You can check out the full tree here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11AWF4Cfj9YSM5w-X_Ejfe1mFgM5qmqNUmKSJZVT_ZNg/edit?gid=473735171#gid=473735171
- The History of the Qurupecos Discovery is embellished by me. Armor Descriptions in MH3U do indeed mention them being worn by an "ancient, foreign tribe of warriors and hunters", so I chose to use that as the impetus for the Guild discovering the species.
- Qurupeco being able to imitate human voices is only mentioned a single time by the Moga Questgirl in MH3U, but I decided to include it here as a rumor because I love the idea so much.
- We don't know how long Qurupeco chicks stay with their parents.
- While the Qurupeco Research Community does exist in canon (as it is the Questgiver for a few Qurupeco Quests in MH3U), their exact relationship to the Hunters Guild is never elaborated on.
- The Crimson Qurupeco's chest pouch being initially reported to be blue is not a lore fact but a reference to the Crimson Qurupecos Icon being colored incorrectly in all games, displaying a blue pouch rather than the red color it actually has.
- We don't know why the Crimson Qurupeco developed a different color than the regular species, which is why that section is presented as explicit speculation.
- We don't know if the Guild cares about over-hunting.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Game Text

Quropeco, Bringer of Pickles

The Devil Joes intro musician.

HAIL THE CALL OF THE FLYING HUNTING HORN!!!

Seriously, top favorite Bird Wyvern for me, my beautiful & goofy Troll - adactyl, Qurupeco!

It would be so cool if they brought Quru back in Wilds. Like, it could call for reinforcements and have an entire herd of Balahara or something suddenly show up

"With this sacred treasure I summon the mighty pickle" - Qurupeco, probably

This is my second favorite bird wyvern, I love the concept behind it and I hope it returns soon. Thanks for the quality content as always.

It's such an obvious monster to have come back. The big focus on herd and dung bombs is perfect to showcase its mechanic

Absolute banger of a video, perfect to watch while doing cardio. Im looking forward to the royal ludroth video.

Qurupeco, the one-bird show of MH. It can dance, it can sing, it can fight, it can can fly too!

It's greatest hits are: "Big Bad Devil Joe", "Hungry like the Zinogre", Fly like a 'Cuga", "Lagiacrus Rock", and "Stairway to Heaven's Mount".

Hmm, the next MH:Ecology episode is reminding me of a question I've had for awhile, namely how canon are the optional assignments and the like meant to be? I know that in-canon hunters generally hunt far less monsters than are depicted in the games as that's mostly for gameplay purposes (since for example there's no good reason you couldn't fashion an entire armor set from one large monster most of the time). Specifically I was reminded that one of the optional assignments in MH3U is to capture a Royal Ludroth because it's flavor text is "Anyone who's anyone in high society has a pet Royal Ludroth. They're so orange! So Squishy! I absolutely must have one! Do TRY not to hurt it badly, you brute. I suppose a few minor scrapes are acceptable..." and I don't know if that's meant to be canon or not, but the idea of royal families having "tame" examples of some monsters in menageries or the like (IIRC it's said somewhere that some royal/noble families use the Royal Ludroth in their heraldry, and sometimes IRL royal families would have tame examples of real world animals that were their heraldic beasts)

Harbinger of Pickles

Qurupeco is the hunting horn wyvern as Glavenus is Great Sword wyvern.

The definition of……..

Hunter: You can’t defeat me

Some funky looking bird: oh I know, but he can

que the angry dragon pickle

The bird that yapps fire 🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️

I remember when for a short while, the only way to hunt Savage Deviljho in MH3U was to hunt an event Qurupeco and wait for it to call Savage Jho. So we have to hunt Savage Jho first and then finish the quest with hunting Qurupeco. What a time.

What's the name of the intro song? 0:47

Merry Christmas Oceaniz! big fan, hope you're having a good day! Can't wait for the next entries in the series.

A fitting christmas episode

Qurupeco willl always be funny bird wyven to me

I could never ask for a better gift
Thank you
