I spend a few days in our motorhome at Whitby Holiday Park in Whitby. The campsite is just a 15 minute walk from Whitby and is the perfect base to explore Whitby and the surround area of North Yorkshire and the North York Moors. I cycle the Cinder Track to Robin Hood's Bay and go on journey on a North York Moors Railway steam train.

If anyone wants to skip walking up the steps you can catch the sight seeing bus. It runs from the town and harbour up to the abbey and back. Its a day ticket and you can hop on and off at any stop all day.

We go to Whitby every year with the Kids and stay in one for the many holiday homes. This year I couldn't explore as much as my health was not being very nice to me, so nothing with a step gradient or even a shallow one. We were based in Whitby so parked the car and left it the entire week in one of the long stay car parks. Hopefully next year I will be able to get up to the Brewery by the Abbey, as yours is the second video I have seen this year that has shown the Brewery.
There is lots to do in and around Whitby like you showed and we usually pop off to York for the day as we all like spending the day there.
There is a TV series that covers the North York Moors Railway that you may find interesting. It was on telly earlier this year on either channel 4 or 5 if memory serves me.

Very interesting, we love the Whitby area, but thought the Abbey was over rated and certainly over priced for a ruin. However, fish and chips are great :-)

Visited there October last and delighted to say will be there on Thursday next. Then Saltburn-By-The-Sea. Lived in Diamond Street in the 60s, then move to Burrill, Bedale. Always enjoy the North East.

Just saying Hi.. A bit late as you walked passed us while you walked the coastal path to Whitby. We were parked up in the Whitby Steam Tractor Fair field. I did say in passing hello.. But was unsure of it was you or not..

The last time I went to Whitby I remember a notice on St Mary's church wall respectfully requesting that the Goths refrain from partying in the graveyard. Imagine having to ask people not to do that? If you can time your visit when there are no Goth events, music festivals, 40s re enactment weekends, regattas etc it’s a great place to holiday. Otherwise avoid.

Good to see a USA locomotive with the commemorative plaque for RAF men of 21 BDS who with their attached supporting signals radar had to land on Omaha beach. After being shot at from both sides killing 10 men and wounding 38 other men. Because there Blue uniform look grey when wet😭.
