hot take: i didn’t like it as much because I think the problems solved by themselves way too fast and with little consequences. The easiest way to please everybody was to make everyone the winner and camp rock 1 & 2 took risks in the sense of surprising you with the outcomes or the winners. I don’t know, I just think I was saturated with a lot of plot lines

Why do the two siblings look less related than the love interest. I genuinely thought liamani and Malachi were supposed to be siblings

I didn’t expect the review so quick but I’m not complaining 😂

I cannot comprehend how the characters had such little depth, the scenes were so rushed, and the plot was so unfulfilling. Camp rock 1 established so much just in the first 15 mins and it’s the same length as 3.

It seemed like they cut a bunch of scenes with Callie the dancer chick, lots of set up that seems to go no where with her.

i get that these movies arent actually filmed in the summer but they do nothing to mask that its filmed in winter. everyones wearing jackets, the sky is overcast & the leaves are brown & falling on the ground like what?

I do like that they continue to use faces from their shows for the movies…as few as they’re making nowadays. But they really are trying to start up the talent farm again and giving the cross opportunities

I honestly agree with your full review. It’s a solid movie for what it is.

Only thing in regards to Mitchie’s cameo… there was no reason to make her and Shane divorced. Idk it’s a weird trend that between them and Mason suddenly being dead in Wizards that I just don’t get why they’re breaking up couples for no real reason?

I honestly didn’t like this movie. I think it tried to do too many things at once and at the same time the pacing between events felt too long and drawn out but also could have benefited from being a tv show. I also felt like they should have largely focused on the siblings and their dynamic and then the romance. Idk.

This movie had basically the same premise as the first movie, except all the new characters just got along with each other basically for no reason other than just everyone is chill, the first movie actually built character relationships, and the breakout song and dances felt more natural and not just a sudden insertion to move the timeline along. The whole “mean girls” trio was abysmal  compared to the original movie’s. In one of the first breakout dances the “mean famous girl” literally took part of the dancing as a background dancer for the main character Sage. Also finding “mitchies book” in the cabin was for what?? How exactly did that help her when all of the characters in the final jam had their own original music and lyrics to which no one struggled to create their performances 😂. This movie should’ve taken more notes of how a story should be written like camp rock 1 instead of just recreating the original plot line of the final jam and forcing the characters and story to move along predictably everything coincidentally working out in the favor of everyone…

I was borderline too old for the original 2, so I’m not the target audience for this one, but I thought the story was alright, but it felt rushed and there was a little too much “Hey remember this?” for my taste

Liamani truly is on her way to be the next Disney star. Not a fan of the movies she's been in, but her voice and charisma are undeniable

what even was the purpose of Madison? she did nothing for the story and nothing happened to her when they found out she posted the video. also how did she even record the video? wouldn't she have to be in the bus to record it? cause a video of them singing in the bus and a random video taken from outside the bus also makes no sense.

the plots were just so rushed and there was no character development (i couldn’t tell you any of the characters names)

It was good just rushed and leaned too much into the nostalgia factor and we didn't really get to know the characters

I wish we got more exposition through action and songs rather than dialogue. It felt like nothing was happening but characters would react as if something were and they grew and changed. I kept asking where are the songs? Apparently they’re all at the end performed with the tens of dancers and musicians they’ve been rehearsing with the whole time for final jam that not everyone gets to participate in? I needed more frequent original ear candy than how the movie paced its songs, and I think that would’ve helped with the overall tone and pacing issues throughout.

Where are the camp activities? Or classes? The whole point of CR2 is that competition is fun but this is also a camp where we do camp things to have fun. That would’ve been a great opportunity to show the tour manager the joy of camp rock so it grows on her rather than her seeing it as another annoying thing she does for the boys. Maybe don’t use Cliff getting stuck places and no one helps as a gag, but have all of our crew help him out of these situations, not just Fletch? Or have an adult actually acknowledge what Cliff is going through and guide him?

The overall tone of the movie needed to be either campy or dramatic, it flip flopped too much. CR1&2 blended both well, but CR3 worked best when campy (embrace the 4th wall cringe) but only a couple times properly prepped us for the dramatic character moments.

I felt that the songs were out of place ngl, and that the cast barely had any chemistry everything just felt flat...

See for me…10 minus points for not having as many original songs. But it wasn’t too bad ! I’m in my mid twenties and this movie is for kids so I give them the benefit of the doubt

Idk to me it felt like a long tv show episode (pilot episode) instead of a movie... Still enjoyed it though
