Eggplant moussaka has been a traditional Turkish home-cooked dish for centuries, passed down from generation to generation throughout Anatolia. From the Ottoman culinary tradition to modern-day Türkiye, moussaka—especially the version prepared with eggplant and minced meat—has remained one of the most beloved dishes on Turkish tables.

Prepared in nearly every region of Türkiye with slight regional variations, eggplant moussaka combines eggplant, minced meat, onions, tomatoes, and peppers in a recipe that reflects the distinctive flavors of Turkish cuisine. This version has been cooked in Turkish households for generations, served in local restaurants, and has become an integral part of Türkiye’s culinary heritage.

While dishes similar to moussaka exist across the Mediterranean and the Balkans in different forms, the eggplant moussaka traditionally prepared in Türkiye has its own distinctive characteristics and is widely recognized as a classic dish of Turkish cuisine. For this reason, eggplant moussaka should be regarded as an important part of Türkiye’s rich culinary heritage.

Nah I swear to god that posture edit is insane. My editor has blood on his hands

It's honestly surreal to be casually watching YouTube on a Sunday morning and suddenly spot Calfreezy dining at one of our restaurants! We're genuinely blown away. Thank you so, so much for trying the Chicken Tikka Masala at City Spice—it means the world to us that you enjoyed the dish. Truly humbled you chose to visit us, and we hope to welcome you back again soon! ❤😍🤩

20:54 as a Syrian that kibbeh you had absolutely doesn’t look like the kibbeh we usually have . it has juicy ground beef inside and a crunchy texture on the outside

31:13 that posture is insane

Mexican here, Mole poblano is just one style of mole originated in the city of puebla, there is also mole oaxaqueño from the city of oaxaca and there's many many more, some less chocolatly that you might like better, when it come to mexican food it sometimes really does depend what state or even what city you're trying it because the preparation or even ingredients can be entirely different

Nothing pisses me off more than watching someone battle a saucy dish with a fork, while the perfectly good spoon beside him just sits there being ignored completely like an unattractive date.

Bro you gotta try Persian cuisine. It’s rich, flavorful, colorful—and honestly underrated. I’d love to watch you try it and hear your take on it on the channel. Think you’d really enjoy it, and it’d be a banger episode too.

That Theo Baker pic during the bald ad sent me 😂😂😂

I’m really sorry the Syrian kibbeh was underwhelming. I honestly think it was just an off day for that kiosk, which is such a shame. As a Syrian, I can tell you that Syrian cuisine in London rarely reflects what we’d actually eat at home. Most places try to appeal to everyone and end up serving a mash-up of meze, grilled items, and a couple of vaguely home-style dishes.

Since moving to London, I’ve been on the hunt for spots that serve true home-cooked meals, the kind that actually take time and effort. Dishes like grilled kibbeh (which is basically our national dish, and yes, there are over a dozen types of kibbeh) or yalanji/yabraq (stuffed vine leaves) are really hard to come by. That said, I did find a place — not a promo, I swear — called Ya Habibi Kitchen, and it’s honestly the closest I’ve come to proper Syrian home cooking in the UK. So if you ever feel like giving Syrian cuisine a second chance, I’d definitely recommend it. 😊
