Hey ya'll! Imagine getting screamed at by your own cousin on her wedding day because she thinks your approved-color dress means you’re trying to seduce her husband. Yes, really.

In this story, a woman shows up to her cousin’s wedding wearing a burgundy dress that was literally on the bride’s approved color list. Instead of enjoying her big day, the bride drags her outside, accuses her of trying to “sleep with the groom,” calls her names, and insists she publicly apologize on Facebook for “ruining the wedding.”

Now the cousin is demanding a public apology, the family is involved, the texts won’t stop, and the whole situation has spiraled way beyond one innocent dress. Is she really supposed to apologize for wearing something the bride herself approved, or is it time for a very healthy no-contact boundary?

Shame on those commenters bullying OP in the same way as the cousin, and thank you to Charlotte for shutting that down. This was never about the dress. The cousin resents OP for being a beautiful person, in looks and personality, so she tried to get away with bullying her because she’s the bride. Targeting the dress was a way to try and legitimize her BS. And anyone taking the cousin’s side needs to sit and have a think about what they’re doing.

One of my good friends had a dress code of full length dresses for her wedding. She knew I couldn’t afford a new dress and when she saw me in a knee length dress she hugged me and said she loved it and thank you for coming to her wedding. I felt embarrassed by it but she reassured me that it was a gift I was able to be there.
That’s how a bride should react if someone is not of their dress code. Basic things don’t matter.

"Red means you want to sleep with the groom." Meanwhile in Indian weddings, guests frequently wear red...infact sometimes they re-wear their own wedding outfits (which traditionally would be shades of red) because no matter what there is no outshining an Indian bride.

First Story: I think OP’s cousin is insane. The color of the dress was approved BY THE BRIDE!! The dress in the photo looks very wedding appropriate. And no matter what OP’s body type/shape is, it did not give the bride the right to degrade and bully OP to literal tears.

I cannot believe that this poor woman got bullied and shamed to the point that she was sobbing and the comments had to be turned off because everybody was further bullying her and further shaming her. Shame on those people!!

Earliest I've ever been and glad to see Charlotte immediately shutting down those negative comments. Body and hair shaming are an absolutely not in this space, as they should be in any space.

So update on the first story :
The bridezilla’s brother contacts Op to tell her why the cousin did that.
Bridezilla saw her husband looking at OP when she entered with her family and got angry with him , he explained how he liked how OP’s eldest son looked in his attire but bridezilla said he was lying as he had lied in the past before .
Now for the other reason why she blew up on OP was because before she and her husband became official , her husband was talking to a girl who had a very similar build to OP and whom he nearly left her for.

5:48 I had a literal model, athletic and clothing, who also has training programs out there, at my wedding. One of my best friends is a model. And every single lady looked just as amazing as her. Also, I, the bride, was in now way outshined.

First story: The cousin sounds so spoiled and entitled. SHE approved that color, and it’s burgundy, not red. OP named her child 2 years before cousin met her husband. It was OP’s first time meeting the cousin’s husband. Other people wore the same color. This is the cousin being jealous of how good OP looks and bullying her for it and making OP feel bad. OP shouldn’t apologize to her cousin and should just go no contact. She doesn’t need haters in her life that try to make her feel bad about herself because they’re jealous. Let the cousin live with the fact she ruined her own wedding.

The red dress thing at a wedding is specifically about wearing RED. Like an unambiguous, cherry/fire truck/lipstick red. And it's to signal that the wearer has ALREADY slept with the groom in the past, not that they want to do so in the future. It's a petty mistress thing from an era where nobody would talk about a two timing man out loud so women found covert ways to say things to each other.

That burgundy dress is GORGEOUS! Amazon has some surprisingly beautiful clothing items. The dress is 100% appropriate for a wedding dress. Burgundy and wine, which is a very similar color, both are perfect for weddings. I've even seen them used as the tie color for the groom and groomsmen. OP is completely in the right. And she looked damn good, I'm sure.

If he didn't already know, the groom learned on his wedding day that the bride is totally psycho. Yeah, I would definitely go no contact with the cousin. She is certifiably crazy.
