Former BAM store manager Josh Johnson has broken his silence about Reckless Ben — but several parts of his new story don’t match what he said before.

I found five major contradictions, and the receipts include phone calls, police statements, bodycam footage, and JJ’s own words.

Josh Johnson is finally talking about what happened at the Salem Bricks & Minifigs store, Bryan Mansell’s LEGO, and his interactions with Reckless Ben. But when you compare JJ’s new interview with the contemporaneous evidence, some of his claims become very difficult to reconcile.

In this video, I break down the five biggest inconsistencies:
• JJ says he would never threaten to drag a dispute through litigation — but Bryan Mansell’s account and JJ’s own prior statements tell a different story.

• JJ says he wishes Reckless Ben had simply taken Bryan’s LEGO from the store — but what JJ told Ben at the time complicates that version of events.

• JJ says he likes Ben and wishes him well — despite much more serious statements he previously made to police about Ben.

• JJ now minimizes his involvement in operating the Salem store — even though he previously identified himself to police as a co-owner.

• And most importantly, JJ says he repeatedly tried to return Bryan Mansell’s LEGO — but his prior statements and the evidence surrounding the yellow-sticker inventory raise major questions about that claim.

The point isn’t to speculate about what JJ was thinking. It’s to compare what he is saying now with what he was saying then — and let the evidence speak for itself.
