Children have always had unfiltered thoughts, but when 90% of them are chronically online, it just makes it so much worse.

You know we’re cooked when kids aren’t even excited to watch Bill Nye the Science Guy.

having your 7 year old be chronically online should be illegal and teachers should be able to report it.

I got called to the principal’s office for pressing an emergency button because I was in 3rd grade and my intrusive thoughts won. I was crying in the classroom before I could even go, so the teacher had to take me into the hallway to console me. That’s how sensitive I was. That’s how much I respected authority and rules.

“Sir, what’s 80 minus 4?” because he wanted him to say 6 7 is hilarious😭😭

Being born in 2005 feels like getting the final airplane out of Vietnam

watching the girl go from drooling at an ipad to making art genuinely brought a tear to my eye

I'm turning 14 this year and I was blessed enough to have parents who cared about me instead of just handing me an iPad and calling it a day, I enjoyed a lot of core memories that a lot of Gen z kids have had like the Wii, the McDonald's play place and  being outside with my friends instead of being a tiktok addicted Snapchat-kid. I am actually disgusted by all the Millenials who hand their baby an iPad and totally neglect the fact that their kids need to actually be KIDS and enjoy being outside and have fun with friends instead of being screen addicts.

Kids dont even wanna watch movies?? I used to bring my own DVDs last year to watch movies during my free period on this old TV. This is insane.

Being born in 2009 in the dying days of Gen Z felt like dodging a fucking nuke

I was teaching a ceramics lesson today (Intro to art High School class) and we were reviewing vocabulary for ceramics terms they'll need for the unit. After class I had a kid some up to me distraught that he wasn't able t get all the definitions, as they were absent the last two days, and he couldn't hear me over everyone's yelling and talking. Its heart breaking when kids feel guilty about not being able to do something because of how disruptive their peers are. Its not like I can do anything because we cant even discipline kids anymore, the only thing I can do is send them to admin, which accomplishes nothing. Behavior doesn't change that way. He asked me why students are so disruptive and disrespect to his learning and I just sat and stared thinking "How do I answer this question?"

My kids are in their early 20s now but when he was younger my first born asked me if the world was black and white when I was a kid.

In 7th grade I had a teacher named Mr. Memoli. Dude was jacked, he got me into marvel comics, made history cool, and was just a cool teacher. To this day he's my favorite teacher. I had his class or 90 minutes because he was the English language arts and social study teacher so technically we had him for two periods. He kept a small brass bell that he'd ring to get the class to quiet down, but one day it wasn't working. I sat upfront and I respected him but not everyone did, but I'll never forget this, he calmly stood at the front of the class and in one hand crushed the bell. People behind me who saw shushed the kids being loud and when he had all of our attention he put the crushed bell on the desk and just started the lesson. Everyone in class was shook, and the next day there was a new bell on his desk. I really hope wherever he's at he's okay, that was the coolest thing I ever saw a teacher do

When my brother was in SIXTH GRADE a kid brought a literal cap gun to school, painted it to look like an actual gun, and fired it in the cafeteria. The kid got detention for a day. Not even a weekend detention. Not only are these kids being absolutely insufferable, but they're also just not being punished by the school systems for what they do. It's sad to watch, but I'm so glad that you're making videos and bringing attention to this stuff ❤

When that teacher talked about how she was SAed by a student, I was utterly speechless. Like, how have these parents have gotten so bad to the point where your child is outright assaulting their teachers in broad daylight, and it's somehow not their problem???

First year of Gen Alpha and it’s horrible, I don’t even use that language yet kids CANT EVEN SPELL FAUCET OR GARBAGE. ITS HORRIFYING. IM SORRY FOR ANY TEACHER WHO GOES THROUGH THIS.

I had a math teacher in middle school who was a former drill sergeant. Nobody liked her, but oh my god did we shut up and listen. I very distinctly remember some kid getting pulled out to get talked to in the hallway in her class. We all went dead silent, both to eavesdrop and because we knew that kid was about to get chewed out in a way he (probably) never had before. The next year, when I was out of her class, she came up to me in the halls and hugged me and told me how proud she was of me and that I'd always been a pleasure to teach. Total 180, and I realize as an adult she cared a lot about us and she simply knew how to get kids in line. She was a damn good teacher. I can't imagine if the school system hadn't been supporting her and failing her like the current systems are failing teachers now, she'd have left the profession in a week.

A Gen Alpha tried to make out with me and they were 12…. They said I have a 67 god level tier gyatt and my water melons were too 67 sigma tier. I was so disgusted by that. Their parents didn’t even acknowledge about me being uncomfortable. Never going out in malls again until these parents discipline their kids for once.

School janitor here. I have kids who only know who Martin Luther King Jr and Abraham Lincoln because the both of them were shot and killed, and when I asked them "what else were they known for?" THEY DIDNT KNOW!! I REMEMBER LEARNING ABOUT THE BOTH OF THEM BEFORE SECOND GRADE, AND THESE KIDS WERE 5TH GRADERS!!!!!

The saddest thing is that the generations born after 2005 consider themselves to be the most educated generation ever (I've heard this countless times from college students). That's crazy.
