Room next to the reception is absolutely comedy gold. 😂😂😂😂

That she is just chilling on the other side of the wall while Simon talks to himself cracks me up. 😂

The first hotel lady seems very new to human interaction it is almost as if she's confused and doesn't know that she's working in a hotel 😂

that random lady in the streets of astana was giving off some crazy cool vibes

Lady on reception in the ritzy was a gem and so professional. Porter was also very nice

For this to have been a fair comparison, Simon should've ordered a massage in the one star hotel too.

2:16 Simon trying to be understood by saying “perfecto” 😂

The one star reception looked absolutely shocked anyone would even come in let alone get a room 😅

Wow, I was impressed by how friendly the Kazakhs are in Astana. They seem to speak good English and understand the importance of hospitality.

the 1 star wasnt even that bad, seemed comfortable and safe with almost a sort of cozy feel

These ritz employees seem like the nicest ppl and the first girl in the street was a great vibe.

I hope some people don’t conclude that Astana is friendlier than Almaty. I stayed in Almaty for three days, and it was a nice city with nice people (most of them speak Uzbek, Kazakh, English, and Russian). It was a pleasant trip, and the Airbnb where I stayed cost around $100 for three days. It was a futuristic apartment on the 11th floor, and the whole city, including the sunset, was visible from the windows. I really liked Kazakhstan. I arrived at 1 a.m. on a late flight. When I got to the apartment, I saw that the homeowner had bought some products for me for free (yogurt, eggs, toast, chocolate, and coffee). When I messaged her through Airbnb, she said she didn’t want me to have to bother or spend money on a taxi at night to find groceries.

That Ritz receptionist is gorgeous.

The fact the guy carried Simon’s tea is comedy gold 11:00 😂😂😂

Don't take this the wrong way, but I literally watch you when I can't fall asleep at night. Something about your video style and voice is just so calm and I feel like I have travelled the world without ever leaving my house.

That local girl i love  her attitude you two need to vlog   with  her  she  had me crying laughing over you  not being  warm 🤣🤣

The front desk ladies could not be anymore polar opposite of each other lol 😆

That lady at 8:00 minutes into the video, is precious, what a fun way to feel welcomed to the city!

I've been saying it for years, Kazakhstan and other Central European countries (particularly former Soviet Republics) are some of the most slept-on and underrated travel destinations around at the moment.  Absolutely gorgeous places with a ton of stuff to do, incredibly affordable, very nice people and safe.  You can live like a king for comparatively dirt cheap prices, the only other place that even kind of compares is southeast Asia and that's becoming more expensive and it's super crowded.  That Ritz Carlton hotel is gorgeous, what a bargain.  I bet every moment of the service there was 5 stars all the way.

I used to travel to Kazakhstan for work all the time. I got to know the bar staff at the intercontinental in Almaty very well. We are still friends now and I was last there 15 years ago. Lovely people
