Just an FYI from an RN: compression socks are going to do their best job if you put them on when you get dressed. The longer you wait to put them on, the more fluid may already have accumulated in your legs. This means that instead of preventing problems, they might actually CONTRIBUTE to problems! And if you are at increased medical risk for blood clots, they should ideally be put on either before you get out of bed or after resting with your legs elevated above your heart for at least 15 minutes.

FYI - as a nurse, compression socks/hose should be put on when you first get out of bed and get dressed. That is how they are designed. Good Luck.

I use the clorox wipes before I sit down too. I have it down to a fine art. When they announce they are about to start boarding, I don disposable nitrile gloves (surgical gloves) and stick a doggie waste bag into the cuff of my shirt. When I get to my seat, I quickly put my larger carryon into the overhead bin, the smaller one under my seat, whip out the clorox wipe that's already in my pocket, wipe everything down in a jiffy, then sit down and fold the wipe into the gloves as I take them off inside out, pop the whole thing into the doggie waste bag which I stick in the seat pocket to collect any other waste during my trip, so I can hand a nice neat tied bag to the flight attendant when she comes around to gather up garbage. It takes far longer to describe than to do, it really takes virtually no time at all, under 10 seconds, so I'm not holding up other folks. If my seat mate happens to be right behind me getting impatient (or even more so if they are waiting patiently!) I will give their head rest and tray table a wipe for them too.

Great video again! Two things I'd like to share. I'm flying SAS airlines next month and the under seat allowance is so small, that I had to purchase a child's backpack now and my new Nomad will be my carry on. I'm not really happy about it, but I can't do anytihng about it either.

Two, during a trip to Italy, one of guest's luggage was lost and it took the airlines 4 days to get his luggage to him. He only had one day of extra clothing ( even undergarments) packed in his carry on. Lesson learned... I now pack 3 days of undergarments, 2 pants and 2 shirts just in case. The 4 days was agonizing for him. Running around to find and try a laundry mat in Italy and wasting time. He was giving the tour guide from the company a hard time too, which was unfair to her. I will never forget it.

I brought that same handheld fan on my recent visit to my mother's (4,000 km away). She's in the mid 80's and likes temperatures about 20 degrees hotter than I do. She was convinced it was a vibrator!

I use the Calpak wheeled mini carry-on and the Luka laptop backpack (considered as my personal item) combo to get on the plane. I also check in a carry-on bag. So three pieces total. The wheeled mini carry-on lets me put my laptop backpack on the sleeve so I don't have to carry it around, which saves my back. It's a good combination for long trips.

Thanks for your great videos. I also do a seatback ziplock which is a great strategy -- I hate having to rummage thru my pers item bag unnecessarily during the flight. Something will always drop out of the bag and retrieving it can be a nightmare especially in a dark plane (assuming you even notice it fell out). Keeping things as simple as possible is best.

I have the same backpack in a different color. Love it. Shoulder issue too, so I make that side longer for ease of putting it on. I really like the pockets, especially the one in the back for extra cash, passport, etc.

I do the exact same thing as your ziploc bag in the seat back but I found a “purse organizer” at TJ Maxx that has handles and little slots for organizing and I love it. That way I can put my bag up top and leave room for my feet ❤

I have that very same backpack! I love it. The water bottle pockets are GUSSETED at the bottom! Also, no Velcro - it is all nice snaps.

For a notebook for travel, I actually use a small weekly calendar. It allows me to write out my trip details and notes by day and keep general notes or lists usually in the back etc…. I do journal something everyday from weather, sunrise and sunset times, latest news, the mood I’m in, something funny that happen that day, memes, quotes, meals ate, etc.. I just buy a cheap one.
