Loved the tip about turning liquids into solids, like toner pads

I have a list of Underseat dimensions of several planes if anyone is curious. Yes, middle seat has the most space while the aisle has the least. Choose the middle if you are bringing a dog on the plane. Airbus’s ALWAYS have the most underseat area so if a big personal item is important, try to book a flight on an Airbus. Some of the seats have 20x17x9” on certain airbus seats. 18x14x8 is pretty standard. Some are 17 or 16” long and some are 9 and 10” deep.

I love the tips about trying on your clothes and writing everything on a card

Follow this bag advice with CAUTION: they are now measuring and weighing carry-on bags and personal item bags AT THE GATE; at CDG for Lufthansa, bags measured and weighed TOGETHER for the 8kg total, if it’s over either way, forced to check one bag for a FEE. Things are changing.

I love your video style! My favourite part is how you list the item on the bottom left hand corner in large capital print as you explain. It's so great visually! :)

I totally agree with folding some clothes. Thicker items, like sweaters, just take up more room when rolled. 😊

To the point great tips! Thanks

Check with your airlines to get their dimensions for personal items. For instance, we are flying British Airways from LHR to Norway and the personal item can only be 6 inches thick.

Some other tips for carrying liquids are to fill empty contact lens cases with creams and gels and to use flat pouches for your toiletries. The flat pouches are particularly good because as you use them, they shrink.

Thank you, such a good video. Super helpful and your voice is so soothing. Great job !✨👌🏼

Bernardo makes a great puffer that has straps on it so you wear it like a backpack. Not great if you’re actually WEARING a backpack but not to worry if you have a carry-on. They’re on sale right now since it’s not coat season in North America.

Great tips! I especially liked the itinerary on a 3x5 index card to help with wardrobe choices. I also paused the video and did this IMMEDIATELY: turned a liquid into solid by pre-wetting my eye makeup remover pads to store in a baggie for an upcoming trip! Looking forward to seeing how that works out! Thanks again!

Cubing for organization vs more stuff is the way to go. Also, I think I have less stuff coming back than I do going out somehow. Works for me!

You are really helping me with my usual travel anxiety as I prepare for a trip to Scotland. Thanks! ❤

Lately, I’ve been having trouble fitting personal item bags under the seat, even if they are within the airline’s dimension guidelines. This is especially true for the aisle seat (my favorite). The middle (yuck) and the window seats aren’t as much of a problem. I bought a smaller backpack for this reason.

European low cost airlines are notoriously strict re carry on. Check size & stick to it. Yes you may be okay until you're not & they charge you. Some gate staff get paid extra if they charge oversized bags.

@shelleychester6345 6 months ago

I totally determine my outfits, including jewelry, underwear and shoes and take a photo well in advance of a trip so I'm not stressing about it and can just pull it all together to pack. Some of us just think this way and it works for us. :)

@andrewe.7907 1 year ago

Thanks! I got 5 weeks to europe coming up. Shoes is my biggest issue. I hammer my feet and I have big feet. Thus the space issue.

Talk about tsa screaming at us, Detroit metro airport is the worst. I get so flummoxed.

Never put valuables or must haves in a carry on that could be checked gate side. I’ve seen them THROW bags up to the door as you exit the plane. A large backpack can scrunch under a seat. If you want to check your carryon on the way home, that big bag can go in the overhead.
