Warner Bros' TERRIBLE Lego Ninjago Movie...

Ahh Despicable Me 3. Possibly, the worst of the Minions franchise. Dropped during the deep depths of Illumination in their TERRIBLE era. And clearly a marker of just.. not.. trying. From slimmed down runtimes, to non-existent character arcs for.. ANYONE. This is Despicable Me at their worst. When they were trying to release one of these every 2 years. It's rushed, it's forgetten, and it's bad. (And no in the Michael Jackson way) This is Illumination's Most TERRIBLE Despicable Me 3...

...And to mess up when you have Trey Parker...

Honestly given the way Hollywood treats child actors Bratt's backstory COULD have been a lot darker. I wished they would have made him more of a broken villain in the fact he's doing what he's doing cause he was never able to heal from his past in Hollywood. Now that would have made for a cool villain. Incredibles COULD tackle something like that. A delusional former child actor who PLAYED a villain, but then over the years was able to become a mad scientist type wanting to take out Hollywood.

Also to put on a list of some of my favorite villain weapons ... a damn supersonic keytar. You're right about the gadget designs. That's the best part.

And to think this whole movie's plot started because of puberty

Saying it's the "Most TERRIBLE" to me implies that there is a better version of Despicable Me 3 in some other part of the multiverse.

Honestly Trey Parker playing a villain that’s obsessed with the 80’s sounds funnier if this was a Randy plot in South Park 😂.

tbh i think the main issue with the minions in every despicable me after their movie... is that originally the minions were a character by themselves, they had individual names but that was just jokes, they were one collective character. in this movie there are less minions bc they quit, but the minions each having their own personality (if you can call it that) just bloats the cast sm

The only thing I remember about the movie is that one meme of Grus brother getting violated by the spike 😭😭😭

"I kinda liked them forming the yin and yang ball thing though that’s kinda perfect actually" *realizes Gru’s face is in Dru’s taint

If there’s one good thing that came out of the film, at least they tried something different with the end credits by having it be an animated montage of Gru and Dru having a Spy vs Spy-inspired chase instead of typical Minions shenanigans animated specifically for the credits. It’s not much, but at least for ONE film, they did do something different. 🤷‍♂️

4:21 I think the joke was moreso about a tv show being cancelled since his whole bit is becoming his tv persona but I do love the idea of Gru being cancelled on twitter for something posted by the minions

22:30 funny thing about the goat scream is that it’s not even a goat that did the original scream, it was a sheep. Family guy is the only one to get that right.

"To be fair, gummies bears ARE made of gelatin, and therefore ARE meat, so" lmao 😭

I mean I actually liked this movie

I think what makes it worse is that Batman: The Animated Series did the whole “Villain staying in the role they played years ago” better, with two episodes: Baby Doll and Beware the Gray Ghost.

I noticed it immediately when the villain sounded like Randy Marsh.

13:21 damn it I laughed

I only liked the first 2 movies.

The only thing I liked about the third was probably the villain although I wasn't a fan of his catchphrase..

Honestly, they could have gone the angle Batman does with Baby Doll for the villain here. It would have been way more hard hitting if he was hamming it up at the start but he is genuinely broken inside having the character he played on TV being his only identity.

8:10 and this is most of my problems with the Thunderbirds movie as well from 2004. You take a show with a main character cast of around 10 people. You then add more characters to that, and then you lock a majority of the characters inside a freezer and in space for most of the movie to focus on 3 characters instead. I can think of a 100 different ways they could have made that movie and it would actually have been good, but instead it became what it is.

I actually really like Despicable Me 3, it’s my favorite in the franchise. I also really really like Bratt, I think he’s a great villain. I like his motives, his style, his backstory, etc. he’s proven to be a pretty skilled and dangerous villain. The only thing wrong with the film is that there’s too much filler. If they took out the fillers, I think this movie would be a straight up 10/10. Id love if illumination did that with this film.
